AP ROO Scuba Diver - anyone got one?
I partly blame Thomas... okay, not really but AP ROO is growing on me. Quickly. Not the chronos as much as the new Scuba diver model.
The AP house speaks for itself - it is one of the big 4. The style is very distinct, masculine but yet elegant. It doesn't scream luxury watch to people outside the inner circle so it is definitely something you can wear every day. This thing is growing on me. Rapidly. ![]() What is even worse, this limited edition - in orange of all colors - is growing on me as well!!! ![]() ![]() Hm, I can't really motivate one of these without giving up one my vintage Rolex, e.g. the 1665 Sea-Dweller or Zenith Daytona. I smell trouble... |

ha, amazing what a little research does to your knowledge.
Turns out these are two distinct models - the upper one is the new ROO Diver, which is a 42mm piece with a stellar 3120 in-house movement and living up to every dive spec in the book. The lower orange one was part of their slightly older ROO series called "Scuba" with a 44mm case, a JLC movement etc. When beginning to understand the background, this piece becomes less attractive IMO. |

Here are some gorgeous details of the Diver (not interested in the Scuba anymore)

It is getting more and more likely! :-)
I'll take my time and see this one in person first a time or two. I don't need another catch-and-release experience (like my latest JLC). |

I talked to a local AD, who got back to me after calling AP. 6-8 weeks wait on these from APs. Additional bracelet options coming early next year, but then again most ROO bracelets should fit the standard 42mm case.
@Howard, as far as I've been able to find out online, the older "Scuba" model was actually 44mm. |

I recently snagged the ROO Diver via Oscar/bodybump here at TRF. It's my new favorite non-dress watch. For awhile I was not a fan of rubber straps, but for this watch it seems perfect and is much more comfortable than a steel bracelet IMO.

Many Offshore models are incorrectly sold as 44mm, but they are all measured at the bezel, which is 42mm. The only exceptions are a few LE's, such as the Shaq and T3.

I would LOVE to own the diver, it will be the only ROO I own.
I do not like the depoyment clasp on the ROO...
