Ceramic TT Sub: Black or Blue?
So, I have decided the next watch to add to my collection is a TT ceramic Sub. I have always operated under the assumption that I would be getting the black model...until yesterday. I was at my local AD trying things on and the only TT ceramic she had was the blue. I initially wasn't going to try it on, as I really didn't have an interest (and wasn't too keen on the new blue dial and bezel color), but I thought what the hell. Now I don't know what to do: black or blue?
All thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Ceramic TT Sub
I traded in my 2005 blue submariner this past summer for the new ceramic blue face sub, but still miss my old friend!

Both are great watches...but very different.
For me it would be the black..simply because I think it's a more versatile and easy to wear watch. But, I have friends with the blue and they wear it all the time..so it really depends on the individual as always with these questions. I would suggest you try to see them both side by side in the flesh .... or at least try them both on close to one another! I vote black here...safer...and a timeless watch, colour and design. Good luck.

Agree with dalip. The black exudes elegance, esp in the TT.

I'm personally not a huge TT fan as it seems a bit flashy to me, but if I was getting one, I'd go with black.

Black ... like the WG light blue color, but not fond of the dark blue.

I voted blue.
The TT blue sub is probably the next Rolex I will buy. I already have a TT GMTII and I think that the blue will complement this nicely as it will be very suitable for informal occasions whereas the GMT's black face is perhaps better for less informal occasions. |

For me, the pre-ceramic TT Sub blue is one the most beautiful Rolex watches, so I'd go with the ceramic blue.

I'm not a fan of the new blue; to me the previous shade is more attractive. So my vote is black.

I would go for the blue. As a matter of fact I am visiting my AD today for a possible trade on my year old TT Sub black no lug holes SEL for a new TT Sub C blue.

Some don't care for the new blue...
I think it's great and actually prefer it over the classic TT Blue Sub.

I prefer black, but taste is a very personal thing. I personally think that the blue used in the new ceramic sub WG and TT are a bit cheap. But you have to like it

Black is more conservative and more versatile. However, SS subs come in black, if i choose black TT then there aren't much to differentiate between the TT and SS except gold center links, bezel and crown. Therefore for a TT sub, my choice is blue. Besides, TT sub is a flashy piece, might as well go all out with blue. Also, the blue dial looks extra beautiful against gold. It's good with suits too. Black TT is a bit boring for me just my HO.

New ceramic blue doesn't look right to me.
If you must do ceramic, do black.

If it's on the radar, TT GMTIIc....I like how the green hand and text play off the gold, and I prefer the GMT bezel in gold over the standard one, too.
If it has to be a Sub, go black.....unless you can swing the WG blue one..... |
