Icon20 Comex Submariners

Anyone got any history on these watches, especially reference articles, were they ever made with No Date?

Where would be best place to buy UK or France?

Try using the search function here as well as taking a look over on doubleredseadweller.com

Too much to post.....Do a search as Brian stated. As for buying one-you need to know what you are doing first. There are so many variations and important that you have the correct supporting doc's and paperwork with them--i.e. diver's log, i.d., HH letter etc. I also hope you are prepared to spend money-lots of it if you want a great example ie. 5513/5514 matte logo dial. I will lastly defer to buddy Jedly who is the master of Comex!!

My true passion was getting a few Comex subs as my first vintage rolex watches. Here is a 5514 of mine. No date on the 5514.

The key with a Comex purchase is the seller - there are a zillion fakes out there. Be cautious and do lots of homework.

I saw a Comex Sub for sale on one of the forum (can't remember if its here or other forum) recently and was shocked at how much it was priced at

You might also want to contact Mike Wood in Southport, UK - he is a great collector of Comex subs and sometimes has a few examples for sale on his website - www.theoldwatchshop.com - you do need to do your research though as examples of these watches can fetch amazing prices. Good luck.

It sure would be fun to start collecting vintage Rolexes and the Comex Submariner is a good place to start.....

It's a great example - complete with diver's log book and supporting documents. Bought about 10 years ago from Tom Bolt from The Watch Guru site.
http://www.watchguru.com/

I used to wear it as my daily wear watch but now I get more worried about banging it on something or dropping it and not being able to repair it.

James Dowling has one for sale on his site. I'm afraid to ask the price though.
