Just bought a rolex from ebay and the guy is taking a long time to ship stating the insurance company need paper to insure it?

Best way to ship is USPS with insured 1st class. It takes 8-10 days coast to coast but it will literally be stored and moved hand-to-hand the intire way.

When I sent my Explorer II off for service I used USPS Registered mail. Anyone that handles the package (that joke writes itself) has to sign for it and they use paper tape with a tamper stamp. USPS registered mail is an acceptable transport for documents up to the Secret clearance level. Insurance of up to $25k can be added as well.

I would agree USPS with insurance or Fed Ex/UPS and get insurance through a 3rd party

The fact that this seller is taking a "long time" to ship your watch is what concerns me more than the method of shipping... How long is a "long time"?

This concerns me... Also do you have any pics of the watch that you purchased?

Less than 5,000usd.. usps overnight with insurance.. more than 5,000 usps registered mail insured for the full amount.
Last resort.. usps overnight with insurance up to 5,000 and third party insurance for the remaining uninsured amount...

Can anyone share the names of some reputable 3rd party insurers? I always ship USPS registered, but it takes a very long time. FedEx and UPS insure up to $500. Would like to use them, but won't without the proper insurance.

Parcel Pro is the only one I know of.....Hope that helps!

Thanks. Any others anyone can recommend besides Parcel Pro? Parcel Pro is more for jewelers shipping more then a few times per year. When I called they ask a battery of questions to find out who you are, how much you will be using the service and what type of jewelery you will be shipping when using the service. I understand the reason for the questions as they do not want anyone shipping through them that is not in the jewelry business in order to avoid fraudulent claims. If you are going to ship a few watches per year, they do not want you as a client.

Seller = sketchy.

Best way to ship = USPS Priority Mail Registered. Takes a day or two to get to you and can be insured for the full value of the watch.

had many packages shipped to me, never had an issue, packages insured for 3k, 8k, 35k etc.

Total BS. If you did the transaction via Paypal or credit card you have a means of recovering 100% of your money in full. Let the seller know you will be filing a dispute and proceeding with steps to recover your money back.

As someone who ships well over 3000 packages a year for my day to day biz, I would say Fed Ex or UPS overnight or two day air. Their tracking systems, while not perfect (nothing is) have always been more reliable then any USPS service offered....especially on the other side of a problem when solving an issue comes into play.
