So, I'm trying to figure out how to clean my trifecta. The Sub is an easy candidate for the soft toothbrush/soap/water combo... but what about the Milgauss GV or the SS Daytona?

Do you guys use a soft toothbrush? Does it scratch the PCL and polished areas of the watches?

Is your bracelet that grungy you have to use a toothbrush??? How about a microfiber towel???

Yes!!!

I was cleaning my wife's engagement and wedding rings with a soft bristle toothbrush and I began to wonder if anyone uses a toothbrush to clean their rolex.

just make sure it doesnt have any leftover toothpaste on it. I once used one that had whitening past granules left on it and I might as well have used sandpaper.

No I found an unused travel brush and use it only for her rings. Then I had my GV on my wrist and I was tempted... But I figured I'd ask the guys on TRF before doing something stupid.

I've used a soft toothbrush, Dawn, and warm to hot water on PCL's - never had a problem.

IMO a casual glance scratches my PCL's.
I wouldn't touch them with a toothbrush as the slightest bit of grit will leave scratches.

I use a kids toothbrush. Granted I feel ridiculous cleaning a Rolex with a Dora the Explorer toothbrush but it gets the job done.

I use a soft tooth brush to get all the little parts in between the jubilee bands..

Most of the time soap & water is more than sufficient, but if it needs a good clean I use an old head with the Sonicare , that sorts it out a treat.

They're not too keen on the Corsodyl mouthwash afterwards though

Best thing for all applications: Surgical brushes!! Sometimes found at your local drug store, fortunately I know some people in the medical field and never have a short supply ;)

Soft, clean toothbrush works just fine, without scratching the PCLs. Absolutely NO toothpaste, as ALL toothpastes are abrasive.

Any nylon brush won't harm stainless, as it's quite harder than nylon. The one I use is quite stiff actually. It's a nailbrush. I run my Rolex under the tap first to wash off any loose grit or dust, then I soap it up by hand and just lather it up then wash that off, in case any grit or dust was stuck on the watch with any kind of oil or body grease, then I wash the brush to make sure there is no grit or dust on that. I acually use shampoo to scrub the watch as water tends to wash all of this off without leaving any of that white scum in the harder to reach areas. You won't have any problems! Don't worry :D

i use a toothbrush on my gmtiic. no ill effects as of yet.
i also use a sink full of water and liquid hand soap plus a cap full of metho
comes out looking new

Veraet watch spray cleaner and warm tap water, dry with blowdryer. No scratches to worry about.

I use warm, soapy water and a old, soft toothbrush on my Explorer I and my DJ with Jubilee bracelet with no problems.

Typically, I will do this on a weekly basis.

The brush will get grit out of your bracelet, with the help of the warm, soapy water and will extend the life of your bracelet. This is also what Rolex recommends.

...[F]irst make sure the crown is screwed down on your watch (to ensure water resistance). Then, take a soft toothbrush and some hand soap and go at it. This will leave your bracelet nice and clean. Also, every once and a while you could drop by your jeweler and ask them to remove your bracelet and put it in the ultrasonic to clean it – this is probably a free (or very inexpensive) service.

I use a toothbrush, warm water and some hand soap on all Rolex with PCL's... Never had an issue whatsover. I am not even certain if it is a "soft" toothbrush, I just grabbed an unused one from the closet

Should be just fine

I use waxed floss to clean the threads of the winding crown....makes it smooth to screw down.

I floss inbetween the links. My watch always gets a piece of candy if it has no cavities after the cleaning.
