I need another watch to fill a hole!

Hello,
New member from Japan saying hello!

I have a watch box which houses 6 pieces however I only have 5 pieces. I originally limited myself to 3 pieces - my wife said I had too many watches at 2 watches!

I decided late last year that watches really make me happy and I am sick of stupid rules! So told my wife it was my watches or her. She decided to stay. I bought a Rolex Explorer II Polar 16570 and a Vintage Vacheron Dress watch.

I now have 1 more hole to fill. I still owe a little money on the Explorer II so it will be at least 6 months before I fill the spot. Thinking vintage Rolex 1601 in steel with white gold bezel? or perhaps a 5513 sub (But subs are a bit overpriced IMHO).

Please take a look at my collection and advice what I should buy. IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE ROLEX! But this is a Rolex forum!

Beautiful collection. Very nice box too. I also tried to limit myself to 3 watches, it did not work. My Mrs is kind of ok with it as I have bought her a couple of nice watches along the way. How about a daytona, royal oak, or a sea dweller 4000? Or make your wife happy and buy all three!

Looks to me like you are missing a Sub! :-)

Second recommendation would be a Pepsi.

Third, based on your taste, would be a JLC with a few complications.

Pepsi would be good... You're too black & white. Put some color in it! pepsi, LV , coke, Milgauss...

Great Collection, Congrats.

I think a vintage Sub, Sea Dweller or GMT would work perfectly here.

Yes you are missing a Sub. I think a Panerai would also fit well if that floats your boat. I'm not too knowledgeable about them though so I can't recommend a specific model.

Nice collection, agree with the other comments that a nd sub would complement well...

I'd flip the Explorer II for a Sub, then get a JLC.

Looking at the theme of your collection (2 explorers and 1 exploration watch speedy) as well as 3 whitedials and and 2 blackdials as well as enjoying classic styled watches... I suggest you'd wait and get the new updated black dial ExpII .
I think that'll make you the most happy in the long run

Excellent watchbox by the way, Japan made?

my first reaction would be a submariner or GMT, but after looking at your collection it would seem a Milgauss would fit better. Check out the Rolex Milgauss, very sophisticated, shiny, and unique.

Why not something a bit different, you could try square or rectangles -

i.e.

Cartier roadster
Tag Monaco

Then again you did post this on the rolex forum so if we presume that it is a rolex you are seeking then in my mind (and presuming your budget)
it has to be the Rolex daydate in platinum. Best of the best there

That is a stunning collection.

It seems you have all the bases covered except a diver. I'd go there and to be honest a minty vintage diver would be my focus. 5513 is a good bet as is a minty 1680.

I think you'd love a nice 1601.
