This is strange or a great deal

I found these 2 posted on craigslist and then I see the same pics here on TRF. I emailed the seller on CL and he said he sold them both earlier today. I wonder if he needs cash ASAP or a scam???

Pics get stolen and placed on CL, ioffer, etc. all the time by scammers. You might want to PM the photo owner here. (Watermarking is certainly a good idea, although it doesn't protect 100%.)

whats weird is that the CL ad has more pics of the Daytona then the listing here on TRF. So who really has the watch?

You may not realize that sellers here sell elsewhere too, and you can't always know all the pics they've posted on sites just by a TRF listing.

About who owns, you make the call. This TRF seller, or the random ridiculous-price person on CL?

I can assure you that Lawrence has all the watches in his possession that he posts for sale. He is a well-known seller here and TZ, and his reputation is impeccable. I have bought several Rolex watches from him.

Happens all the time. Pics get stolen from several sites and posted on CL.
That's a nice looking sub though.

My fault for not doing my homework. I see the seller is reputable. I had my pics stolen and listed on ebay so I was just trying to save someone some headaches.

Just one glance I knew they were LawrenceB's photos...
It is clear that the CL scammer stole the pictures from TRF.

at the CL prices. One Daytona for $4750 and a DLC green ceramic sub for $4500. I think the one on CL is the scammer and stole the pics off TRF seller but I wonder why the CL scammer told you its already sold? A change of heart

The DLC green sub is a very odd watch to scam. I would think you'd want to pick out the far more common (and more readily available counterfeit) SS sub.

I recently found that one of my reviews and the pictures I used on it had been stolen and used on a site promoting fakes. Not a lot you can do about it, though!

Yeah, right. I once bought a Rolex from an ad on Craigslist, but I had seen it first in ads elsewhere, and I picked it up in person. Craigslist is very well known for scams. I have seen numerous stolen listings on CL and not just for watches. Jewellery, home entertainment equipment, pretty much anything that can theoretically be shipped. If you see an ad for something you want on Craigslist, always look on ebay for the same goods. Many times you will see the exact same photo in a bona fide ad for twice the money under a different name.

I think people who run scams online should have every bone in their body broken with a baseball bat, and their picture put on youtube. Maybe that would make these @$$holes think twice.
