Do New Subs Come with Anchor Still ????

Recently I have looked at few newer Subs, with boxes, paperwork, books, etc but the sellers say they did not get an anchor.

So, did Rolex stop including the anchors and if so, when ?

Thanks, Mike

No! Rolex does not provide the anchors anymore, although a savy AD may include one that he may have had laying around.

Old Submariners and Sea Dwellers with a hole before 2003 has an anchor in the box and I will probably buy blue TT at 2007 October it will be brand new and Z serial I think, will I not get anchor too? Can AD give me an anchor as a gift after buying that expensive watch?

Hi Aykun. I know how you feel but that’s Rolex for you. But think of it this way: if you were not planning to convert the anchor into a key chain or something like that, what is the loss? There are still anchors on offer at eBay on a regular basis if you really want one. Just enjoy your fine watch in October!

Hi Aykun,

Just grab the Blue Sub while you can and forget about that useless anchor. You can't do much with it anyway.

Guys

Thank gosh i got mine. I got the last series of the new without lug hole subs with the anchor in it. They stopped shortly thereafter. It is the coolest item. I love looking at it and it adds value if you want to sell. I have been offered more money for my sub becuase i still have the anchor in the plastic case. All these little bits add to the value.

I think its unfair of rolex not to give the anchor. Another few more years, and when the ebay ones die down, you will see that it becomes wanted. If cheap old magazine adds and booklets are heavily sough after, imagine the anchor in a few years.

But each to his own. I would demand an anchor if there is a spare one. But i agree, if you buy a new sub/sd than no anchor. Pretty soon Rolex will only give the box with no watch and we will still drop 5 grand on it haha

Ask your AD. I got one from my AD when I purchased my Z series.

I may buy one on the bay just to turn it into a keyring for a spare set. It's a pretty cool item for sure, but as others have said, no real value unless it came original with your Sub or SD.

i agree, yes the anchor is useless, but I STILL WANT ONE!! And don't get me started about other brands with their hard bound books as brocures, and after buying a Sub date, and now a new GMT-II from my A.D. no catalog, no nothing!! Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!! Slill LOVE my watches, and besides Jeager LeCoultre, my favorite watch! Design(no, not current offerings), accuracy, and absolute toughest watches I have ever worn. I love Rolex.

Sure, you are right, if that anchor would be smaller as a pin that would be put on a hat or jacket it would be super or it could be done to the Rolex logo and given with the watch, it's not too difficult for Rolex to give to customers after taking 7000+ for a watch.

I know JJ thank you I hope that I will be able to buy the latest blue TT in the world (before case update ) till October, and I will share photos here with all of you, and I will not care about the anchor anymore.
I will wear it just at nights and some weekends it wont even see sun light.
