HI Yasser,
The base caliber for a 1570 (19,800) VPH is a 1530. The balance wheel on a 1520 Oscillates at 18,000 VPH. They are not comparable in standard form, and the watch will run incorrectly. Good Luck. |

I stand corrected Yasser. That said, the part number for a 1520 Balance is 8055 and the part number for the 1570 balance 8106. The 1520s I've worked on were in Non-chronometer watches. Why not replace it with the correct balance though? It is still available from Rolex.

Hi Yasser,
You moved me to action and I opened a 5513 (1520) Submariner and a 1680 (1570) Submariner to compare both balances. The 1520 has regulating pins while the 1570 is free sprung with microstella screws. The 1520 is also a Flat Hairspring while the 1570 is a Breguet Overcoil hairspring. The 1570 is of much higher quality. . . |

This is the trick of Rolex the staff balance is the same
VPH the same for both and staff balance the same so it works even I measure the timing big difference so the bottom line if you want 1520 to become chronometere just change the balance to 1570
