Dont want to beat this to death, but my new bride want to get me a gift and asked me which one I like better. Have been to the AD to see both, and each has its pros and cons... I like the SS because it can be worn with anything all the time, but the TT is a gorgeous watch in its own.... Thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

SS works for me but you can't go wrong with either. Don't know if it matters to you and since you mentioned having a new bride, what color is your wedding band? If you have a yellow gold band, get the TT, if you have tungsten, silver, platinum colored band, get the SS.

Either are great. I chose SS and reserved the TT for my DJII. Whatever works for you is what you should be most concerned with.

I bought the SS, but I am still looking at the TT. The gold & black bezel is a thing of beauty.

I like both, have your bride buy the SS model and you buy the TT model - problem solved!

TT makes it much more classy. Ifyou decide later you are bored, a SS will be veryeasy to pick up.

I am in the same situation... sold my Explorer II and now
looking for new GMT-IIc. Price difference between SS and TT is almost $3K but the TT has a stunning appearance worth the money. In my opinion it is an "emotional" thing... I went to AD and put both watches on. The SS is georgeous but the TT looks "richer" in a good way. After wearing 6 years the SS EXP II my wife said that I am now ready for the TT GMT-II. ![]() |

I've got the TT and it's by far the most stand out watch in my modern collection.
Gets the most comments and really looks the business IMO. But you need to do the wrist test and decide for yourself. All this choosing by consensus is pretty much a complete waste of time as they are both identical apart from the exterior visuals. And only you can decide on that..... Great position to be in though ![]() |

SS for me, but TT is also a beauty and sometimes it goes with the age and taste of the wearer. i chose SS because be it casual in shorts/ tshirt or heavy formal it blends in elegance.

TT looks insanely hot but the SS is just more versatile :)
Besides if you look at the second hand market the TT is almost at the same price level as a SS.. Thus the TT got a 'worse' resale value.

I think the tt is one of the best looking watches and you can wear that with everything too.

I have both. I have said this before, buy the best deal first then save for the other. You will not be satisfied with your first choice. You will crave the other. then there is the third and forth and .....

You mentioned you have been to an AD to check each out- if you have a good reputation, see if you can wear one outside for a minute- that may help you significantly. Pictures and even in person aren't the same as outside.
That may not even be an option at your AD, but maybe worth a shot. As for the one to get- only you can decide that!!! Better yet, let the better half decide!!!! Lol! Nate
