Am I crazy for wanting a 3750.50?
As the thread title reads, am I crazy? I've always loved the looks and history behind the watch but never took the plunge.
I guess you can say my experience and my friend's experience with Omega haven't been the best in the past. Granted, my problems were with vintage pieces that kept breaking but his problem was with a modern WhiteGMT that kept stopping AND he was one of the unlucky owners of a stubborn co-axial. But still, I really want the Moon Watch... |

Nope ... not crazy at all.
You had better scratch that itch or it will only get worse!! IMHO the Speedy Pro is every bit as much an icon as the Rolexes we know and love |

The moon watch is by far my favorite watch I've ever owned. I've been kicking myself for selling it about a year ago. I'll definitely own one again at some point.

Fr. John is responsible for my Speedy Pro ownership. He is right, there is nothing else like an Omega Speedmaster Professional! Cheers, Bill P.

Is it correct that the lugs are 20mm? I hope so as I have dozens of Natos.

If your crazy, you sure have tons of company.
I couldn't wait to get mine, and it's been an important part of my rotation ever since I got it. The Speed Master Pro is one heck of a great watch.

From what I can see from your Avatar... are your prior military or currently in? About six months ago, you could've got a brand new in box for a REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD PRICE. Now, AAFES has caught onto these OMEGA price increases and... so long low prices.
I'm on my fifth Speedy. I'd never think to sell it again because I know I'll want it back. Good luck on your search! |

Prior service. Back then my interest was in other much less-expensive watches.
Thanks for all the responses! |

I sold my 3570.50 to fund another watch and regretted it as soon as I left the post office. I spent about 2 months searching and just picked up a 3572.50 which will be a permanent addition to my collection. You can't go wrong with a Speedy Pro!

Go for it.
As everyone has already said, it is a classic. The manual wind Speedy Pro, even with the price increase, is probably one of the best deals going. Having owned many watches, including Lange's, Patek's, VC's, Rolex's, (including Lange, VC and Rolex chrono's), for the price, I don't think you can beat the Speedy Pro. I just purchased a Sapphire Sandwich, which is the same watch w/a sapphire crystal and see-through case back, along w/a slightly embellished movement (adds to the eye-candy effect); an incredible watch. Highly recommend the Speedy Pro. If your interested, I'd also recommend that you contack Fr. John re: his AD; I purchased my watch, w/Fr. John's assistance, from this gentleman. One of the best AD's I've delt with.

Purchased a pre-owned one that belonged to two reputable TRF members over its decade lifespan. Should be here in a few days.

I've got a pre-moon Speedy from 1969 which I wear on an Ofrei racing strap and absolutely love it. It's more accurate than many of my newer pieces and doesn't miss a beat. It gets plenty of wrist time and gives me the same satisfaction as my much more expensive watches. A seasoned collector friend once told me "a speedy is a must in every collection and will be in everybody's top 10 iconic watches of all time....." No question as far as I'm concerned. Get out there and get one

If I bought one (and I def want to at some point) I'd get the meteorite version:
