Pam 270

Good Day All,

My AD just email me and told me he has a demo PAM270 for sale, It is in mint shape and is offering up to me for over 40% off list. I am going to try it on next time I stop by. I still not sure if I want a Panerai or another Rolex.

Is 40% off list for PAM270 a good deal?

How is the movement in the 270? I think it is there first Auto movement.

Thanks,

Eric

WOW, that's about the price of it's cousin - the 233. If you like auto's I say go for it!

Good luck!

Does the 270 have a nice domed glass like the 233?

I believe it does. Only difference is the 10 day (vs. 8-day manual) auto movement, am/pm (vs. dot), and slight thickness.

I like the domed glass of the 233 and an auto movement would be nice too

No doubt, no truer words spoken, it is an excellent watch and one of the few that I have respect for since Richemont tookover Panerai Firenze.

it'll wear thicker than the 233 due to the auto, but, if it works for you, DO IT! totally bad a**.

Hope you pulled the trigger on that PAM 270! Mine will be here Thursday but I won't be back to pick it up until later in the evening so its gonna be the longest day ever! 40% from an official AD is amazing since mine was had for half that but is a brand new N serial# (aka 2011 production year)...I personally only buy from AD's and actually only one particular AD from now on but I believe you should never pay retail. Especially is this economy.

It is a special piece. Personally I'd favor the 233 because it is thinner and sits better on the wrist (my wrist at least).

Its literally a 1mm difference...tried both of them on and I couldn't tell at all and placed them side by side and the thickness was barely noticeable. The only reason I or most would favor the 233 is the price over the 270. The 270 is $2,400 (retail) more than the 233, however, mine was had for 25% off retail so it made it a lot more manageable when making my decision. I already have a PAM111 and with only 56hr reserve it takes a lot of turns to wind it. With 8 days that is definitely a chore to wind, however, it comes down to price and if you have a manual wind in your collection already. The 111 made me realize how much I like auto's. Love how casual and classic the 111 is and still wind it about ever other day but the 270 is the ultimate Panerai for most (pricing aside of course). Especially if you consider the huge popularity of the PAM312 which shares a very similar dial.

Can't go wrong as long as it has that super dome!!!

if the watch is in mint condition and covered by full warranty it's an absolutely great deal.
