I'm betting the starting price from flippers will be at least $17,000. And I bet it could be higher, as much as $20k. That's a hot piece.

I agree. I didn't say it was a fair price, just what I thought it would start at.

I can see BNIB flippers cashing in, sure. To me, though, a big part of the fun of this piece is having the patina develop thereby having the watch tell "my" story. I can't imagine I'm the only one like that, so, I would imagine the pre-loved market won't be as strong as one might think....unless the bronze can be refinished to like-new, I suppose.

Very easy!

Combine equal amounts of flour and salt in a small dish, then add enough vinegar to make a paste.
Smear the paste onto the bronze and let stand for about 30 minutes.
Wash the paste off under running water, then dry and buff with a clean soft cloth.

Your watch will look like new.

Nice info! Thanks.

Would this remove a bit of material like polishing does? I would imagine yes. Would it be approximately the same amount per cleaning as per polish? As in, a fairly limited number of refinishings?

A chemical cleaning will remove a fraction of the material removed by abrasive means.

I don`t think a hundred chemical baths would even remove as much material as one polishing.

Nope, your just removing tarnish, not polishing away metal.

I've polished 3-4 times and the brushed finish is 100% in tact.

One was list on this forum for 16999. I offered 16000 and the seller refused. 16500 was his counter.

the Bronzo will do better than the 339 in the resale market but current prices are rather crazy. let's wait a few months and see how the prices fare.

I don't think they will ever go under 12000 euro or 15500 usd

and this is why;

Mr. Bonati said the company had no plans to do more bronze watches. This was a very special edition. And I think thats why Panerai is appreciated by collectors, he said. Such a watch will not only keep its price but also increase in value.

at a price of usd 15500 it can be acceptable to most (~30% above list price) but above usd 21000 takes some very special collectors to buy this watch.

nevertheless i do agree with Mr. Bonati, the Bronzo is indeed a very special edition watch. hopefully he keeps to his word of not producing more bronze watches, although a bronze version of PAM 372 with polished case n tobacco color dial would be a killer.

But if quite a lot want to pay more than 25000 for a PAM360 I see no reason why they would pay less for a PAM382
I THINK 15500 will be the minimum but this is a safe bet, I wouldn't be surprised if it would indeed be close to 20K.

If I were panerai, I would auction off all the SE, and LE to the highest bidder.. It's obvious people will pay sums ridiculously above MSRP so that would make more business sense...I'm being facetious of course.. But it points to a bloated market.. I would flip it right away, regardless the profit, over time, who knows what will happen? I'm betting panerai will eventually come back down to earth and I will look forward to buying these pieces then, meanwhile, good luck.. Get what you can, while you can...

It's also rumored (key word) to be Sly's watch in Expendables II, so there's another increase to the price tag if that's confirmed.

Love the Bronzo!
Still Id have a hard time deciding between
Bronzo, 193 & 307.....

The Depth gauge would be great when diving!
But dang bronze looks sexy

Fortunately/Unfortunately that won't be a debate for me as with
6.8 in wrists I have a hard enough time pulling off a 44 mm let
alone 47 mm :(

Just saw some pics from someone with a Bronzo who was vacationing for a few days and playing in saltwater and I do not think he even rinsed it off after getting out of the water.... Must say it looked pretty cool!!

Has anyone seen this pic of the Bronzo? (not my pic, borrowed from the web)

I guess the guy was somewhere in the Islands for a few days swimming etc.
and did not rinse the watch off.

Looks pretty cool!
I wonder if the paste would clean this one up??

While I'm not a fan of that hyper-patina, yes, some NevrDull or ketchup should take it right off.
