116718 ceramic bezel
Hi Guys,
Is it just me or does this GMT 2 look a little strange? Here are some of the pics posted. Here is the listing on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-GMT-MASTER-II-18ct-GOLD-WATCH-116718-CERAMIC-BEZEL-BLACK-DIAL-D-SERIAL-/230699554399?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWa tches_GL&hash=item35b6c3d65f |

First of all, it's the wrong clasp. Secondly, the LEC should not be so big or readily photographed. Thirdly, there are big gaps between the insert and bezel. I'd avoid this piece. Looks fake.

i'd ask the seller if that POS has a green sticker on the case back EDIT: is that the correct warranty for a 2006 Rolex? when did Rolex introduce the "warranty card" type? |

I should also point out that the screw pins extend beyond the endlinks which I've never seen on a real Rolex. I love the hand written service papers.

Among other things, the second tics are too prominent and the LEC should not be that obvious to capture in photographs. It is not just a fake, but a very very bad one at that.

I'm just amazed that people actually bid on crap like this. I guess they havent heard of "too good to be true" or "come prepared". A simple Google search and picture comparison would unveil this fraudulent piece.

while I don't doubt the vast amount of knowledge on this site, how can you guys tell from pictures like this isn't there optical illusions with taking pictures in bad lighting I mean, the paperwork, boxes, manuals and everything looks in order, it appears to be a D series and while it does appear weird that the LEC is so easily photographed in this picture when I know people struggle to capture these even when trying.
Any insight would be very educational, to me at least |

This is his offering : Capture.JPG Compare the quality to mine, a genuine one. aug09-gmt1.jpg It's bad enough in the pics and I can guarantee you the thing would look and feel disgusting "in the flesh". Report away, it's the only way these things vanish.

Not genuine! The crown at the rehaut is way off. Maybe its just the angle of the pic.
Also that bracelet should be a fliplock oyster bracelet, not the oyster bracelet as shown. However it could be a modified piece where he changed out the bracelet. Something else seems very off. Can't put my finger on the other things though. But wow what a piece. LOL Would love to be proven wrong though. Maybe a receipt or a warrenty card. or a picture of you with $29,500 might clear a few things up. |
