Best AD with Best Discount in the USA?

Getady to pull the trigger on my first Rolex. I've been pretty much into the watch hobby for a few years, but mostly with Omegas and Tags. My AD for Omegas gives me %25 off anything I buy, unfortunately, he doesn't stock Rolex.

So, who has an AD with an awesome discount in the United States that I can give a ring? Preferrably outside Florida to avoid sales tax?

I'm not looking for anything extravagant or rare... just this one of the pic below, this way I figure he won't be hard pressed to give the discount; as long as it isn't something that people are lining up for, like a milgauss.

You should probably go gray, like Alan Furman or Swiss Luxury. You'll get a decent discount and avoid the sales tax.

If you do find an AD that will discount, chances are there aren't many other ADs that would discount much deeper. Surely your time has to be worth something.

Sooner or later you just have to pull the trigger...

It's funny how some people consider BEST AD's to be the ones who give the most discount.....

Admittedly they do, but same state means sales tax! :-(

There are a few rules you got to follow to get the discounts from the ADs:

a. You got to go in person
b. Be willing to pay cash
c. Establish yourself as a repeat customer
d. Do not waste your time with low level sales clerks; if you see they do not respond ask to see the manager.

When you follow these guidelines you will find that the discounts you get from the AD maybe better than what you get from the grey dealers.

Chimpy,

I fully understand that you want to find the AD with the lowest price, but I'm not sure if you are aware of the fact that AD's are not allowed to make phone transactions.

Therefore, even if you found an AD that discounted significantly, and that AD was 1000 miles from your home, the AD is not allowed by Rolex to "seal the deal" over the phone. You must make the transaction/sale in person/in the store. Otherwise, Rolex looks at it as if they are encroaching on another AD's territory.

I don't know of any AD's that are willing to break this policy or else they risk losing their AD status. You can negotiate any deal over the phone, but the actual transaction must be made in person. Once the money gets handed over IN PERSON, they can then send you the watch out of state to save sales tax. Theoretically, if they hand you the watch in state, you still have to pay the tax. So you have to actually purchase the watch in the store for the best deal, and have it sent to your home to save the tax to keep it all "kosher".

Stores like Alan Furman will make transactions over the phone since he's not an AD.

I've never paid less than reatil for my Rolexes, albeit 2 of them are the LV and Daytona, but I would just go to any and all locals AD's to you and just ask. There's no "best" in the country, and if there was one that was known for giving a good discount, they wouldn't be AD's anymore.

All my local dealers (Mayor's and JR Dunn) gave me the "We wont discount unless you buy two" spiel. What a crock of garbage!
