I've been a reader of this site since I purchased my Z serial No Date Sub (non COSC) from an AD a few years back although this is my first post. This is an awesome website and filled with really cool and insightful folks!

I love my Sub but have been thinking about selling it and using the cash for a SubC. I really like the classic and understated style of the NoDate but something about the new Sub is pulling at me. The new bracelet seems awesome as does the ceramic bezel. Even though the bezel looks phenomenal I'm a bit concerned about the durability since it would be my only watch and I'd wear it daily as I do with my 14060M.

Have any of you upgraded from a NoDate Sub to the SubC as your only watch? If so have you had any regrets or are there any concerns/issues that you have with the SubC?

Not sure if I should roll the dice and sell my Sub to get a 116610 or if I should keep the 14060 and save up for a SubC so I can have both. Not sure if I really need both watches since I'm more of a 1 watch guy but I don't want to regret selling my 14060 since I believe that it's one of the later z serials before they went to the COSC dials.

Any thought/input is greatly appreciated!

Keep 14060M and save for the Sub-C. I have a Sub-C LV and it is an awesome watch and will be available new for years to come. The 14060M I'm not so sure hey will keep in production as they may update it to maxi dial and cerachrome bezel like the Sub-C

x3! The one on your wrist is a classic that may not be produced much longer...wear it and enjoy while saving for the Sub C which is in the lineup to stay!

I also think this is good advice, you will miss your Submariner 14060M

I'd considered it, but after trying on a sub c on several occasions at AD's over a period of about a year, and wanting to like it, I realized that I really preferred my submariner.
Best thing is to go try one on...ideally more than once to be sure. It's a completely different watch than the old sub and sub date.

Good advice! This weekend I saw a 116613 at an AD but have not had a chance to see/try on a 116610. Hard part is they rarely are in stock since they seem to be very popular!

If in doubtsave up, but I highly suspect you'll love the SubC. I don't wear my 11610 ever after getting the new one.

I own both of them...I've not worn my 14060M since I've owened my Sub c! It's a great wattch...the new case and the ceramic insert of the bezel are great things for me. Compared with the 116610, the 14060 feel to me like a fake...

Keep the 14060, I recken this model will be discontinued soon? Save up for the Sub C, there should be plenty on the market so not difficult to find.

Have you tried one on yet ? Without a doubt it wears and feels..larger, heavier and wider than your 14060.....You have a great watch there, give it creaful consideration before jumping into anything

It really depends on you more than anything else. This trade I am sure would work for some and not others. The newer SubC is great but there is nothing wrong with the one you already have.

If in doubt, I say keep the one you have and start saving in the meantime.

I would keep the 14060M and save for the Sub-C. I am lucky to have both and enjoy wearing them on different occassions. The Sub-C is certainly more impressive on the wrist and looks and feels great but I tend to wear my 14060M more often as it sits easily under a shirt cuff and goes with everything (a real classic).

I also agree with your bracelet and bezel comment. I am not too sure that you need be concerned about durability. I don't wear a single watch daily but in a rotation and the two I own with ceramic bezels are holding up fine (GMTIIc and Subc). The GMT has been in rotation for about four years and the Sub one year.

I have no regrets or concerns. The SubC is a beautiful, well constructed watch. I especially like the maxi dial, the blue lumina glow, and the clasp is outstanding.

Only you can make this decision. My recommendation would be save for and buy the SubC. Wear it for awhile. Decide if you would like to alternate. You can always sell your 14060 later.

Your feedback is really helpful as is much of the insights provided by other members! Looks like I might be best off in holding onto the 14060M and saving up for a bit to get a SubC. That seems like the best solution as it would provide the best of both worlds, old and new. Thanks for all the info folks!!!

I'd keep it, save up and buy the sub date. If you find once you have the sub date you never wear the 14060M you can sell it with no worries.

I had the same question this summer. I bought the 14060 first, then bought a 116610. Wore my 14060 Thurs, Sat and Sun., my 116610 on Wed, Fri and today; each have their pros and (relative) cons, but I can't pick a favorite, and I would definitely miss either one.

As others have said, weigh your options carefully and make a good informed decision that best suits you.

My personal experience: Had a 14060M. Never liked the bracelet (at all); the watch was OK and kept great time. When the Sub C came out, I sold the 14060M to fund the Sub C purchase. To be completely honest with you, I've never missed the 14060 a single day since I sold it. As for the Sub C - I can't bring myself to wear any of my other watches; I love it that much (going on almost 2 years of ownership now). Your mileage may vary. Good luck

The SubC is fantastic. I don't think you'll miss the 14060. However, if in doubt, save up for the new Sub. They'll be around for a long time to come.

Everyone is saying you will miss your 14060M,well i will say you wont as i have a TT Blue SubC and its the difference between chalk and cheese. The 14060M is a nice watch but the SubC with its Glidelock,maxi case and blue lume puts it on another level and it feels more upmarket IMO.

Very interesting observations on the SubC and many of the same reasons that I'm so attracted to it (updated bracelet, blue lume, maxi dial)!

me brother.... i had the same dilema the 1st week i got my 14060M....and thanks to all the helpful TRF members the 'itch' is gone...even though the Sub C price hike made my dream watch further...yet i think 1 day i will have enough to get it....keep the 14060 and save for Sub C...the reward would taste much much better IMHO....
