Does the SD Have the same o'ring the Sub does?

I can't see the rubber o'ring on my SD like you do on the Sub when you pull the crown thing out. Then my watch dealer tells me that on the SD they are internal. Is that correct?

Sorry to say this, but your AD is talking through his backside!!

The SD must have the O-ring on the stem of the watch as well.

In fact, it has a heavy duty gasket on the caseback making it a wee bit more expensive to service than the Sub.

No way!! The SD always came with the O-ring on the stem as far as I can remember.

JJ's right. There should be an O ring on the crown stem.

My AD made a point of showing it to me when I bought my SD.

Obviously, you and your AD need to talk!

I think he is competent but he doesn't think the oring goes on the SD. How can I print a pic showing the oring to him.

He can't be that competent if he doesn't think the SD has an O ring.

Do what JJ suggested and have the watch verified. Assuming it checks out, then have it serviced elsewhere.

I agree with the others, you sould have a visible o-ring when the crown is unscrewed - no doubt about it.

Yep, SD has an external o-ring when you unscrew the crown. There should be another two o-rings I believe... one in the inside of the crown and one near the tube??

When you look at your crown tube, is there a notch/gap to allow for a o-ring to sit?

Yes, it is just not there. Also the turn bezel turns kinda hard. I wonder if it is wedged up in the watch somewhere.

There's now way the o-ring could be wedged in the bezel. Sounds like you should walk away from the deal - this SD has issues.

Mike,
I think you wanted to show the newer #703 Triplock Crown. The #701 Triplock was fitted to the 5512/13 1680 Sub, and 1665 SD. The newer references have the later external O ring tube.

The red shows where the O rings are located..

The seals of the Triplock Crown of the Sub and SD are EXACTLY the same.

Period.
