Rolex gold pieces..
Just a quick question...
How come the clasp's on 18k Rolex's always seem to feel stiff but kind of smooth at the same time? Is it anything to do with gold being a soft metal they screw it tighter to maintain a tighter clasp for longer? Thanks all! -Dino

I think it may be tighter tolerances. I notice that my 116718 feels muh tighter than my 116710 and both are relatively new.

My SS and YG bracelets both seem pretty "tight". I just seem to be more gentle with the 18 k gold clasps! I do baby them more but really they both feel about the same to me.

All my gold clasps are tighter than my SS ones. WG and YG. I always sort of wondered about it also.

I never paid attention to it as I said. I just opened up clasp on my WG Sub and it is tight- slow to open and quite smooth as well. Interesting......

Gravity, the watch and bracelet is heavier hence the stiff clasp.

Never trust gravity to always be operative, wear your full body safety harness and tie line.
