A. Lange & Soehne Saxonia Automatic
Just to share my new acquisition.
Had to choose between a Patek 5127G, 5196G and the Saxonia Automatic WG, decided on this one: IMG_0426.jpg Beautifully engraved balance cork on the new L086.1 calibre IMG_0430.jpg Clean lines, solid silver dial: IMG_0411.jpg |

Thanks all.
I was attracted mainly to the movement, which I believe all parts were finished by hand. The individually engraved balance cork is a Lange tradition. I saw a picture of an early lady's Lange watch dated 1916, had very similar shaped case, with a similar engraved balance cork. It is a nice feeling to be wearing a watch knowing so much care has gone into putting it together. |
