Interesting question. Perhaps the same reason why most women don't care what kind of car they drive.....as long as it has gas & runs well?

At least in my area, there's not a whole lot of women that even wear watches period. From those that I see, they're mostly Chanel, Dior, Gucci, watches that are more fashion oriented?

I know many women who wear Rolex watches..
they just don't feel the need to sell off what they have and buy a new one every six months..

I've tried to get my fiancé into watches. She could careless. She does love her diamonds though. She also loves her Mercedes SL so the car argument doesn't work for her.

I have nothing to add to this. I just realized, though, that I've never used one of these before:
And it's not that I think that belongs in my response here either. Just saying That is all. |

There are plenty of lady's watches in the Rolex range, and a great many of them get sold. I'm surprised that you think there aren't many

Why does Craig say something in this thread?
Does it have something to do with him wearing a Ladies' Rolex? Perhaps ladies prefer watches designed for men.

I think there are a good number of ladies' Rolex watches, but I don't believe there are as many models as there are mens' Rolex watches. I think this is the case for luxury watches as a whole. I could be wrong because I don't have any data to back this up, however I believe more luxury watches are sold to men rather than women.

Rolex makes scads of watches for women, but I wonder how many women buy them for themselves? I have a feeling, and it is just a feeling, that a lot of ladies are bought their Rolexes by husbands, fiances, boyfriends etc. So they get them as gifts for significant events, weddings, anniversaries, birth of a child and so forth....a woman is less likely to flip a watch that she was given than a man who bought it for himself and later decides he wanted something else. Men seem to buy them differently. Just my two cents!

Local dealer says ladies watches don't tend to be as collectable as mens- less demand in 2nd hand market

Because all the women start to wear 36 mm and bigger . .
We'll my wife is. Here YM 29 mm is becoming very lonely . . . She almost never wears it. And I think this is quite a sexy Rolex model for a woman. But my DD is on here wrist all the time . . . That's why I don't put a NATO (yet) on my Sub ;-) But there are tons of DJ's (26 & 29 mm) for women out there . . . . Good hunt ! HANW |
