Great Shot. When your phone rings, it might be Rolex calling about this shot.

The reason is I'm still at the laser guy and remove the ink you put on my shoulder when I sleep.

No montage, just load the Luminova with a spotlight then a light from the side far away from the watch so I get
a soft light that help me to get this result.

Here is a pic of the setup.

I hope this help to understand how I made the pic.

Yes it does. but you must be using like a high end Camera... like a D200 up if Nikon. no way lower models can get that kind of specific Focus without the new metering systems

I use a Nikon D700 with a Nikon 105mm macro lens and I do all work manual, even focusing.

Now you know my secrets, so now I'm waiting for your pics.

Oh no im not as half good as you are.... Product Photography is a talent in my opinion and clearly you have that talent of imagination and technical understanding. I was just a helper from the family business way way back. we do portraits (which is similar to product photography) but mostly weddings. 70% of the time i develop the films and do the dark room work for enlargements.

The D700 is an awesome Camera. I presume you do this professionally? if not, you should consider other wise because your shots are amazing....

i used to have a D40 but i upgraded to the D40X LOL which was stupid because i really didnt need the extra 4MP and at high ISO the X had more significant noise for some reason. I spend my money on Lens... 17-55, 18-200VR, 70-300, 24-120MM...

i will post some pics of mine so you can critique and i can learn a little bit of product photography
