renewed my rolex for a sub.i have a 1988 6424 precision,bought my self a 16610 sub.k series.any how i have given this old watch to my daughter.the thing is one of the screw,s on the links looked as though it has been plated with the watch and can,t get the link off.the problem is we have to move the pins on the clasp to the last hole and the watch does not sit right can i get some help.

That's a permanent link. It's not made to be removed. An AD or watchmaker may be able to help you.

not a permanent link,the link is next to the folding clasp.and it has a sloted head witch i take it to be a removable screw.

It's possible that someone has used loctite or the screw is frozen in place. You could try heating the screw to loosen it up or take it to a jeweler for a bit of assistance.

Here is what concerns me about this.. A 1988 Rolex bracelet link will not be "plated".. especially if it is Stainless. I believe you have to go back another decade to find plated Gold bracelets.. I may be wrong here though.

The link at the clasp is almost always a permanent link to the clasp (with the exception of the new bracelets).. In other words, it cannot be taken off the clasp, but only unscrewed on the other side to remove the clasp (with this link) from the bracelet half.

The fix here is to remove the link and clasp from the bracelet, then physically remove the first permanent link on the bracelet, then re-attach the clasp and link.
