Nautilus or Aquanaut for first PP??

Good Day All,

I am thinking about making jump to a PP soon (well hopefully this year).

I am torn right now on a Nautilus 5711SS or an Aquanaut 5167SS on rubber.

I currently had my AD's one and only Nautilus 5711SS on hold right now until the weekend (then I had to put some cash down). They only get 1-2 of these a year and they are scooped up right away. I love the look and the style of the 5711. They are around 6K more than an Aquanaut. The upside is the resale is way better than the Aquanaut 5167SS. Also the watch looks really good on me;

I also like the Aquanaut 5167SS on rubber, My AD does not have one in stock be is getting one with the next 1-3 months and it could be mine if I want it, I like that it is a bit cheaper, Has a black dial (kind of like that better than the blue), on rubber (better for every day, I think anyway). The biggest deal for me is that PP has some nice Ladies Aquanauts that my wife likes, like the 5067. I know it is a bit crazy to have a matching watch with my wife but I think it would be cool.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Eric

I think you are on the right track Eric and that would be a great choice IMHO!

So your looking for objective rather than biased opinions I would imagine?

Well the 5711 has more history, the blue dial is absolutely gorgeous, and it comes on an all steel bracelet rather than rubber one. Do I really need to say any more?

Besides if you get one, mine will have another to say Hi too....

I know I like the look of the 5711 more, but the practicality of the 5167 might win

Eric, honestly if you ask me you can't go wrong either way. I think both are great watches. Just take your time and make sure it works for you.

I've seen tons of watches I would like, but not all of them were the most practical for me either.

5711, on bracelet.

Practical? I'm sure they are both as practical as each other

5167 on bracelet with rubber strap option is more versatile but Nautilus is prettier IMO.

I'd go with the Nautilus. Not a big fan of blue dials in general, but I'd make an exception for the 5711.

Of course they just came out with the white dialed Nautilus, but I assume it'll be awhile before it lands at the dealer.

I wish they would have came out with a gray dial like some of their other gold models

The one that sings to you.

I know the history/pedigree of the Nautilus, but I personally prefer the Aquanaut and it is ridiculously comfortable to wear.

Both looks great. But if I had the opportunity to get the 5711 I would get it.
