Porcelain = MAGIC
I just had the distinct pleasure to be shown a Porcelain Face Daytona with inverted 6 in solid yellow gold....like new in box, still stickered on the back, with almost zero stretch/scratches on the bracelet!!
The owner is a local dealer I know here in Bahrain (spec of an island next to Saudi Arabia)....he bought it 3 years ago from another dealer for....get this.....US $10,000.00!!! I know the porcelain dials are rare, but do they all also have an inverted 6?? How much is this watch worth now?? He's told me he thinks in excess of $100K....can it really have appreciated that much?? Going back to pick up a piece next week and will take my camera to take some photos to share |

Is it rare? Yes. It is worth more like the low $30's which is what the last ones I have seen sold for in last year. Go do a search on the Vintage Marketplace and you will see for yourself.

I thought the '$100K' claim was too high myself....but, it is the Middle East and they are willing pay the asking price, so maybe it's worth $100K to someone here!!
Will send pics next week....had a couple of nice PP's with annual calendar and moon phase from the 1990's too...will snap and share. Last edited by brettpaul; 30 March 2012 at 12:31 AM.. Reason: typo |

Why did Rolex stop with the porelain dials anyway? I compared it to a new white dial Daytona and it was an apples and oranges comparison...
