Daytona threads - is it just me?

Hello people,

I see that there are always lots of active threads relating to Daytonas.

Would you guys call me crazy if I said I didn't like them at all Anyone else out there who thinks the same?

Jack.

I wouldn't call you crazy at all. I'm not a big fan of the SS versions but love the WG option.

Hi Jack, yes there are a few of us lurking about under stones who aren't that crazy about the Daytona.
As Mike points out - different strokes.......and all that

The Daytonyas are beautiful in person, but for me, I would have a problem not having the date function.

As such, its not my first Rolex pick.

Yep, Blue Bull is single-handedly ensuring that Daytonas remain rare through his aggressive acquisition strategy!

Actually, I'm still on the fence about the Daytona. I cannot make up my mind whether I like it or not. Having said that, I am still madly in love with my Omega SMP 300M Chrono Diver (from 2000), so am good in the chrono department, at least for now.

Although if Blue Bull feels like sending one of his to me for a trial run, I'll cheerfully give it a go!

James

I hate them to pieces...find me one and I will take it off the market so we won't have to see it...

watch is like a beauty of a woman...some people give her 10 points and the other give her 3. I would not call you crazy because everybody has a different point of view and we have to respect it

I don't like Daytonas no matter what the bracelet. Four dials plus a cyclops? That would be way too much going on in a wrist watch for me.

However, I greatly appreciate SS Daytona Mania because it keeps the heat off the watches that speak to me: Subs, GMTs, Explorers and Air-Kings.

And like Chris said,

On 2 occasions last year I was in my AD when they had SS Daytonas in stock. I've tried on both the black and white dial versions, and they just didn't do anything for me, certainly nothing to warrant the $1,500 over MSRP "buyer's premium".

I have to admit, though, that some of the TT versions are good looking, and the meteorite dial Daytona is stunning!

Welcome to TRF, Jack!

Some like the Daytona, some don't like it.

It is all a matter of personal preference and taste!

Right you are, Chris. A note from the AD... "Congratulations, Mr./Mrs./Ms. "Your name here", your beautiful new Daytona will be shipped to you here in the Fall of 2032. We sincerely hope you enjoy your new watch!"
