And it is incoming again...

I really don't understand who started this silliness with pre-announcing watches we haven't even taken delivery of yet, but in order to prolong this TRF tradition here it goes: :-)

I cannot swing a Saturday delivery, so if all goes according to plan there will be a UPS box delivered to me on Monday, right before leaving on a business trip, that contains a unworn D-series Submariner 16610LV 50th Anniversary! All stickered up!

Maxi-dial and hour plots; old style 16610 case; no engraved rehaut - what is not to like!?

My plan is to have it tuned by a Master Technician, perhaps serviced if needed as this one belonged to a collector who didn't use it, and put a black bezel on it. Stickers off and wear it daily! :-)

With a bit of luck I might be able to find a SubC bracelet to use, like someone posted here a few days ago.

Looking forward to Monday!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheers,

p.

Congratulations, Patrick! And thank you for "letting the cat out of the bag" and not having us endure a guessing-game for four days!

Yeah, I couldn't very well string you guys along for the whole weekend! :-) And this could possibly be the only model I haven't owned yet so someone would have figured that out in no time! ;-)

It's just that when we buy one, we get so excited we have to tell someone! And who better to tell than TRF! You know how it is! Well, of course you do!

Nice Patrick....I like the original bracelet and clasp just fine though...makes the watch what it is. Light, balanced and easy to wear. Looking forward to the wrist pic. :)

You want to have your new watched tuned? Do new Rolex's have to be 'tuned'? I would have thought that after spending that much money, they would be good to go. Do you have to pay to have them tuned?

It has not been used for 5 years. Oils may dry, it is worth to have it inspected IMO.

Nice pick up Patrick.

Now we can only hope the carrier comes through for you.

It looks similar to this one?

But older.
