What is good discount rate from AD?

I am about to purchase Model # 116234 Retail price of $7,550, for me and Model # 179174 retail price of $8,300 for my wife.
Do you know if AD give discounts more than 10%? AD I visited told me if I pay with cash they will give me 10%, is it a good deal?
Hope to get some advise or hear some of your experiences.
Thank you in advance for your help!

It doesn't answer your question, but I'll be the first to say it--- checkout some of the very trusted sellers here on TRF. I have bought several watches off of this site and can't begin to tell you how many thousands I have saved.

Just look at the "who's who" section and you should have little trouble figuring out who is considered a trusted seller.

first and foremost welcome

Please look around the forum and you will see what type of discounts are possible. If your AD does not match or beat the discounts you see feel free to use a trusted seller here on the site many of whom are better than any AD

for a BNIB Rolex 15% off is good already. Unless the AD wants to move the inventory where I have seen them give 30% off

Many people will claim 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% or more discounts.
But, it is easy to make unsubstantiated claims.
I suggest identifying the watch models you like, ask your local AD's what they will charge you for those watches, choose the AD and price you like, and then make your purchase.
Disregard what someone else may claim they received as a discount, because the claim may be false. At the very least what someone else paid has nothing to do with what the sellers you are dealing with may charge you.

I can't see why someone would claim they got a bigger discount than they did.

It does give the OP a ballpark to aim for.

I got about 5% on my 14060M......

Those are both easy to find... Get it on here. I got a 179173 from LawrenceB last year for a nice discount.

An AD here in Central NJ wouldn't budge off 10%, not even with cash in hand, so went the used route from a well-known reseller near NYC.

I went to few more ADs and most of them were glad to offer me at 15% or more in discount.
Without TRF it was not possible and thank you all!
I will post photos of two I purchased when they deliver in two weeks.

In 08/09 (when the fit was really hitting the shan) 20% on SS models was commonplace with the right introduction (preexisting relationship not required). Not sure if that's still the case.

At my AD, virtually nothing for SS sports models, 20% for yellow / rose gold, a bit more for white if it's a slow seller. And if you are travelling in the next 30 days, the 10% tax can also be claimed on top of that.

If they have both of those watches in stock, 10% should be easy. Since you are buying two, there should be more room to negotiate (12-15% without having to threaten to walk). Ask what they're willing to take on the two. Neither of those models are flying off the shelves so I'm sure they want to get that money back circulation.

Have a number (not %) you're willing to accept and it will help you figure out where you stand instead of having to figure out percentages. Dealers are always thinking in terms of percentages so if you stick to actual dollars, you may be able to squeeze out a few more bucks before they catch on. $14,265 (10%) $13,472.50 (15%) $12,680 (20%). For me, I'd focus on $13,500 as a marker to pull the trigger but shoot for $13k
