why does ordering a Rolex take 2 weeks?
So recently I had to sell my Sub C because of a "life event" that took place, so today I was visiting a local AD to inquire about ordering a new one and they said it would take two weeks to come in since they did not have one in stock. During our discussion he said it would be coming from New York, so I was just wondering why such a long wait? Does anyone have any insight as to why it takes 2 weeks to ship a watch?

Rolex USA ships registered insured with USPS
Takes a few days to process the order and about 7-10 days transit time with USPS

thanks David. When the time comes I think I might be shooting you an email. Two weeks is way longer than my attention span.

I was told by my AD that the watch had to be regulated to make sure it met COAS requirements before it could be shipped from NY. My two cents.

I am assuming that initially once the order is received they need to go thru all the proper requirements on moving the timepiece out/into stock within the company. Also maybe they are saving by shipping ground not overnight. I know here in Chicago at Tourneau it is a two day turn around with there watches. I hope this helps.

My AD only gets 2 GMT's and 2 Subs (according to him that's all Rolex will ship him although he asks for more) and they get their shipment once per month at the end of the month. Now when he says he is only allowed two of each I don't know if that includes customer ordered or not.

I've never heard of a SubC not being in the case. I hit up 3-5 ADs a month and it's been a well over a year since I haven't seen on at any AD. You are in Baltimore. I would think there are plenty there.
