Hi,

New member here and i just had an issue with the clasp lock (not sure if this is the correct term) on my Depp Sea whereby initially it seemed hard to pull and now just pops right off. I didn't want to chance losing the lock and the pin that holds it in place so I took it off.

My question is does this necessitate a visit to the nearest authorized repair center?

I'm kind of disappointed at the fact that this lock is held on by two small indentations. It comes off really easily. Not what I expected in a watch this expensive.

Are you referring to the flip lock?

You do need to take it into the repair center.

Take it to the AD and have it repaired .. You certainly dont want to risk it falling off and losing it

Kilyung,

Yes I think it's called the flip lock. It's the little u shape piece that you fold over the clasp to secure it. It has the Rolex crown on it.

Seemed kind of flimsy since it is secured to the pin via two small indentations. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'll call the RSC in SFO and see what they say.

Bill,
If the clasp itself isn't loose, you're fine. The flip lock is just to prevent the clasp from accidentally popping open. You can squeeze the ends very gently for a tighter fit if you like but it's not meant to be very tight.

I have not had this issue with mine and I've been wearing it everyday for over 2 years.

I would definitely do as others have recommended and send it in for service. It should be covered under warranty if it's new.

I've sent in 20 year old Rolexes with worn clasps in for service and they've always tighened the clasp as part of the service. Not saying you need to send in for a full service, but they can definitely tighten that flip lock for you.
