The Mother of all Enabling Threads!!! AP Diver Back from Cayman!!!>>>

Let me start this thread by saying that if you were considering getting a Diver this thread will convince you of pulling the trigger. I have some good eye-candy for all of you.

I just returned from the Cayman Islands last night after a wonderful week there. My wife and I had a great time and enjoyed it very much. We did plenty of snorkeling, swimming, interacted with stingrays, smoked a few Habanos (Montecristo #4), tried on several APs, had some amazing meals and enjoyed my Diver more than any other diving watch I've owned.

There's only one Audemars Piguet AD in Grand Cayman but with great inventory. The AD is Magnum Jewelers and they are extremely friendly and with great prices. Unfortunately I couldn't buy another piece as I've owned the Diver for less than a month. Magnum has several locations in the island but only two of them carry AP. The one at the Ritz-Carlton where we were staying carries only four to five pieces while one of the locations in Georgetown is extremely well stocked. I was able to try on the new ROO in 44mm, the Legacy, a 15202 Jumbo, the new 15400 and many other.

On our third day there, we took a Catamaran to Stingray City & Sandbar which is a must see. The stingrays are just phenomenal and being there takes your breath away. You can actually hold the stingrays and pull them out of the water if you like. After playing with the stingrays we headed to Coral Reef which is a small reef in the middle of the sea not far from Stingray City & Sandbar. Good assortment of tropical fish but not as good as in the Turks and Caicos.

We also had a chance to try the Möet Chandon Ice Imperial which is served over ice and still not sold in the U.S. It was really different but quite refreshing.

On our last night there we had dinner at BLUE by Eric Ripert at the Ritz-Carlton and it was just spectacular. It was as good as his famous Le Bernardin in NYC and up to par with Le Cirque or Daniel. A little bit of molecular gastronomy going on and overall an amazing dinner. It all started with the amuse-bouche that was an amazing Yellowtail Tuna Tartare with a Citrus Sphere. I had the Tuna-Foie Gras (what a perfect combo) appetizer which was to die for, followed by a Cobia on a coconut avocado cream and a lime sauce vierge. My wife started with the tasting of ocean yellowtail ceviches followed by the poached Halibut with a Lemon-Artichoke Risotto and a Pistachio Pesto. For dessert we had a chocolate delicacy and a popcorn caramel mousse.

Enjoy the pictures and make sure you get a Diver after you are done looking at my thread.

We had a blast. Something that was really interesting is that I saw very few good watches in the wild. I can only recall a SS Sub, TT Yachtmaster, a Day-date II, a Green Ceramic Sub and a couple old TT Datejusts on Jubilee. Didn't see a single AP during the whole trip.

I hear you. My wrist is 7-7.5" and I feel it looks to big on me. I loved the 44mm ROO. Already on my wish list.

Fantastic and thanks for sharing! How you feel about the SS ROOC 44mm? It would have been an act of GOD for me not to pull the trigger on at least one AP right there.

The 44mm is just amazing!!! It is a massive piece but the combination between the SS and Ceramic is just perfect. Here's a comparison picture with my Diver. I forgot to add this one to the pics on the thread.
