New guy here - please be kind
This is my first activity in the Forum.
Over my lifetime I've purchased several Rolex's, and other brand, watches. I find myself in a unfamiliar position - of the three Rolex's I presently own one has not been used for several years. It was purchased for 'formal' occasions (it is a 18k gold, President, with diamond bezel, face and band). As can be seen from the description it is not a watch that can, or should, be worn daily. Our 'formal' attendance activities (balls, society and social functions) have become minimal, and I find that my insurance premiums on the watch are not justified. Is there a reputable dealer that can provide me some guidelines on the value of the watch, as well as some consideration to pricing? Searching the Internet has brought me to the conclusion that either the sites investigated are questionable (I.e., e-Bay), or the prices asked are outrageous. Any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated - as a note the watch is in perfect condition, serviced in early 2011 as I am a stickler for having my other two Rolex's serviced periodically. |

First off welcome to the forum. You know that you have a bit of an oddity, and that is going to be a sticking point as you look to move. Personally, I would steer you in the direction of a guy like David Williams (DavidSW); him or some of the other sellers you see would probably be able to give you the best idea price wise.

Welcome, have a chat to any of the regular dealers on here for guidance, you have a unique piece there and it would be difficult to get a market perspective by watching the sale items here or the bay..... Good luck!

Welcome aboard! Not many have that watch with those options, and the non-factory bezel and bracelet diamonds are not great favorites among most Rolex afficianados. If you like the watch and don't particularly need the cash, you can always 'detune' the hot rod and turn it into more of an everyday-commuter-Rolex. Then if you want to move it onward, you could get some serious cash. However, the watch, with studded bez and bracelet, will be much harder to move. Just my opinion, but if I had an 18kg stock Prez that was paid for, I would keep it.

My issue with the watch is that even taking it back to 'stock', I still have two others. I had considered 'willing' it to one of my kids - I have two, but then the remaining one would feel somewhat left out - even if I provided the additional two Rolex's to him. Dang decisions! |

As to 'being a daily wearer - not likely - unless I lived in Westminster Castle with the Queen and her retinue. |

Wow! The only way to 'detune' that is to trade it for a couple of other watches.
