Legit bracelet or not?

Long time lurker on the forum, first post (obviously)

Just picked up a Datejust Thunderbird in Paris (thanks to some of the recommendations here, cheers!).

I took it in for verification and valuation and received two different opinions on the authenticity of the bracelet that is on the watch. Clearly it's not the original bracelet, but trying to determine if it's an authentic replacement bracelet. The first guy who looked at it thought it looked legit, but the Rolex watch repair guy said he was 90% sure it wasn't. Any help would be much appreciated.

What reasoning did the Rolex repair guy give for his assessment?

He didn't say at the time, and me (being in a rush to get back to the office that I had snuck away from) didn't ask at the time (like an idiot). I called back later in the day to speak to him, but he was gone for the day. Just hoping to put my mind at ease either way over the weekend.

Soccerhack, if Tudorman calls it good I'd rest easy. He knows his shizzit. Now show us a pic of the watch!

I agree with Stan, the band looks 1000% genuine based on the photos.

Huge thanks!

Thanks so much everyone, very much appreciated and breathing a sigh of relief. Oddly enough, I think the crown looks odd as it has a line rather than 3 dots. Cheaper fix than a new bracelet or bezel that's for sure.

Andelain, here's some shots of my watch - first Rolex so very excited.

That's a nice looking watch!

One thing to note, your bezel looks like yellow gold in that pic. I can't really tell. If it is, then your bracelet isn't the original one that came with the watch. It would have been a TT.

Steel twin lock crown will have just a line. Triple lock steel crown will have 3 dots all the same size.

Thanks function12, I had no idea.

Andelain, The bezel is not yellow gold, it's steel. Either way, I am pretty sure it's not the original band - it's in too good shape.

Thanks again for everyone's help - you're all a true credit to TRF!

Ah, good. I can be hard to tell color in pics. Even if it's not the original, it's the correct band for the watch.

From one T-Bird owner to another, great choice!
