Screws/pin on new Omega Bracelets
What is the deal with the hybrid screw/pin on the new Omega bracelets? Does this combination serve a specific purpose? The screws are so tiny and are difficult to manipulate. I'm not sure why omega didn't use one solid screw (like Rolex) to connect the links. Anyone have any ideas?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, I did a cursory search and didn't find anything on par at least via the thread title. Thanks friends Steve

The idea is less friction/stretch.
A screw, like on Rolex, gets worn (stretch) because it is fixed. Omegas pins can move freely (rotate) and this reduces the wear (less stretch) |

Definitely easier to adjust than the old pin and bushing system. I swapped the half-link in the bracelet this morning for a whole for a bit more room and I was left wondering how much torque is appropriate for that tiny retaining screw. I went a but beyond finger-tight with the little screwdriver and perhaps a bit tighter than I would otherwise. Losing one and the watch because if it--nightmare.

I agree with this. I also find the screws very difficult to manipulate. I also worry that I will lose one when sizing the bracelet. Just last night I dropped one on the hardwood floor by accident and was on my hands and knees trying to find where it had bounced to. I do understand and respect Omega's attempt to limit stretch as pointed out by Dweller of the Sea.
