Rolex Daytona 116523 with 8 diamonds OR Yachtmaster ll 116681 silver & everose gold
Hi, was just doing a research on these models and bumped into this vast forum.
The time has come for me to fulfill my dream, but am confused between Rolex Daytona 116523 with 8 diamonds on a white MOP Dial OR Yachtmaster ll 116681 silver & everose gold. Getting both with almost the same price with very little difference. Therefore would like to ask the experienced members of the forum to please guide me into making the right decision. |

Interesting choices. However, the YMII will be quite a bit more expensive than a TT Daytona. They are very different watches in terms of size, function, style. Both lack date functions, and I don't think I'd ever really use the chorno function on the Daytona or the 10 minute count down on the YMII. Therefore, this decision really comes down to style. The Daytona wears small for a 40mm watch, I think because of the bezel. The YMII wears big because it is big at 44mm! Do you plan to use this for business, casual or both. I think the YMII would work best for casual, and the daytona would work better for both. I'd go w/ the YMII because you'd be in an exclusive club, not as many YMII sightings in the wild! Enjoy your purchase.

Price diff is not much, would be wearing it for both casual and work. Only thing pulling me a bit is that YMll is huge but somehow I do like it also as it stands out

Do you wear a dress shirt to work? I don't like wearing a thick watch with a dress shirt - either it doesn't fit under the cuff, or the cuff needs to be opened up for the watch (causing it to fall down my hand). I'd pick the Daytona for that reason.

Y-M II. I've looked at both and as has been said the Daytona although 40mm does look small, whereas the Y-M II is all about being different and in my view is hugely impressive. I am due at the local AD this week to collect a Carrera for the Wife and I may pull the trigger on the rose gold Y-M II.

The YM II is the most technically impressive model and would be my choice. I personally don't like diamonds, but the TT Daytona is a far more handsome model than its steel counterpart, particularly given its excellent selection of dials. You'll see far fewer YM IIs in the wild, if exclusivity is a factor for you

Thank you all for helping me decide, what I clearly see is that YM ll is winner by majority.
Exclusivity of the model is the main point in pulling me towards it.... |

YMII. The Daytona is too small. Beautiful, but too small, in my honest opinion.
