New oyster on older sub?
I currently have a newer style tt sub, and just picked up an older ss sub 16610. I really dislike the bracelet, from the 'stretched' feel of it to the clasp. I was wondering if the newer bracelet would fit on the older style 16610? Its an F serial.
If not, are there aftermarket bracelets available that offer that 'heavy solid' feel that the newer bracelets offer? I know a lot of you like the older bracelets, but it's just not my taste. thanks in advance. |

I absolutely under stand what you mean. The new bracelet and clasp is a lot better.
The solid endlinks would not match, so the new bracelet does not go on the old watch. You could fit the new clasp on the old bracelet and see how that feels. Here is another thing that I think helps a bit: If you took out a link segment on the old bracelet and have the micro adjustment rather far out - put the link back in and the adjustment rather to the inner limit. Does a good job on overall feel, balance and adds a little stability to the clasp area.

Interesting. How would one get a new clasp?
Also, is there any way to "tighten" up the bracelet? |

You either have one already from another watch or a hard time ever finding one. Also it is not cheap. Just a thought..
The bracelet is probably loose all over. The only thing you can change are the springbars and screws on some of the elements. If you suspect them of being worn out, why not.. a replacement kit is not expensive.
