I put a pretty impressive ding in my Sub this morning at work. I have no idea what I hit it on, but I tell ya, it made me sick to my stomach. It's more of a ding than a scratch. Can my AD try to buff it out? I don't have the tools/skills to do it myself. What are your suggestions? I know these things happen, but damn... it still hurts! :(

Sure he could if he has an in-house watchmaker.

Since you don't recall the hit, maybe the troll under your bed has been moonlighting with your Sub on his wrist.

Well, looks like I'm gonna have to kick his little ass then. :) If I can find him! Thanks guys for making me laugh. Makes me feel better. The ding looks smaller than it did this morning. Earlier it looked like the grand canyon!!!

Just leave it. Have it fixed during the next service.

Once you get over the initial pain of damaging it, and accept that it is still a great watch, you'll be able to worry less about further damaging the watch and simply enjoy wearing it.

This is exactly why I prefer to buy my watches used nowadays. Someone else already went through the pain, and I pay less in pain and money but get the same great watch!

... You broke your cherry !!! I don't see a problem here- This is a TOOL watch. My SD has several scratches and I remember each one fondly. You can always ship her off to Rolex and they will remove said blemish but I would wear it as a Badge of Honor. But that's just my .02 and don't mean to offend -Ronbo

Just leave it alone expect it will get quite a few more, wait till normal service is due that's the time to have any slight ding polished.Its a watch and no matter what the watch, they will get dings and scratches that's just a simple fact of wearing

A friend of mine told me a story about a guy that had fallen on a staircase. His RLX was seriously scratched. When they tested it on vibrograph the watch was as accurate as nothing happened. ...

The ding will look smaller as time passes... enjoy the watch and have it taken care of when you send it to the Rolex Spa for service.

If it's a ding...i.e. a divot...you will have to have it filled in. Polishing will lower the metal around the ding.

My Iwc flieger had a ding at 2o'clock on the bezel. It also had a small scratch on the crystal. The clasp had desk diver swirlies.

After a regular service with IWC, the watch looks perfect.New crystal, ding taken out. It's like having a new watch.
