new member, new watch! (1st rolex)
greetings everyone!
i pulled the trigger on my first rolex a few weeks ago (thanks DAVIDSW!) and have finally found some time to say hello to all of the enablers out there. your daily exchanges with one another (as i looked on as an "unregistered" user) provided a huge amount of help with my decision to go with the expI 39mm as my first (and undoubtedly not my last!) rolex. for months i had my heart set on a black dial milgauss (having an EE degree it has a unique appeal to me), but at the last minute i came to the following conclusion: if i went the route of milgauss first, it would've likely been quite some time until i came back around to the expI, considering all the other contenders there would be for "the next one/rolex #2." so rather than putting off the opportunity to own something with such a classic appeal seemingly indefinitely, i changed my mind at the last minute and went with a brand new expI that David had available. and i couldn't be happier with my first choice! no regrets, and at 27 i still have quite some time to eventually get that black milgauss... below are a few pictures i've taken: one on the way to work, and one messing around with my camera. this one's a keeper! |

Very nice! Congrats and welcome to the forum!
I also have an engineering degree, and picked the Explorer as my first (although an older version). The 1019 Milgauss was out of production then, and a new one was not even on the horizon... otherwise I would have shared your dilemma! Enjoy your Explorer! I wore mine daily for more than ten years before adding more Rolexes to the collection. The Explorer is still the watch I wear the most. Best, A |

Great first Rolex. I agree, it's a classic design that you can wear any time and anywhere. Tough as nails. I hope you enjoy it!!
Next question: What are you getting next? Milgauss? Welcome aboard! |
