NOT a one watch guy

a few weeks ago i picked up a DJII smooth w/ blue roman dial. i was (and still am) in love with it. i'm thinking it just might be the nicest looking watch ever made.....no joke.

i wore it for a week....

.......and threw on my LVC for the heck of it. i decided it was, once again, the one. i loved the timing bezel, the pure strength and, or course, the playfulness of the color. this of course is the perfect combination of everything (for me)....

after the storm i felt i needed a bit of change. for kicks i figure lets just wear the GMTC for a few minutes........... and i am just enamored.

i once tried to be a once watch guy. and i REALLY respect those that can do it.

i just don't think i ever can. and i accept it....finally.

i love my little collection of watches. and i believe that variety is the spice of life.

i need a white dial next. thinking about a white stick DJII. we shall see.....

You're not completely wrong Seth, you just happened to be a one watch on your wrist man...

I don't think any one that likes watches enough to join a forum like TRF can be a one watch guy. I mean you log on and receive a stream of beautiful watch pictures. Someone that resists the urge to keep buying is certainly more strong willed than I am.

Variety is indeed the spice of life. To give credit to this expensive watch hobby, we all are polygamous. Just kidding.

Ha. I tend to, more than I prefer. But it works for me.

I'm not subtle. I'm a bull in a china shop.

I agree. The thought of one watch sounds good at first but I know it would never work.

Seth, I'm thinking you ought to make the white dial and Exp II. Either one, but I somehow think you will need the new model. Good luck buddy.

I recently became a one watch guy with my grail Daytona. Two days later I repurchased the TT DJ I used as part of the trade. Within the week I decided to replace the ExpII I sold two weeks before.

Bottom line: I tried to be a one watch guy. It lasted 2 days, and didn't stop there.

Feel like I failed a 12-step rehabilitation program, but what should I expect with a bunch of enablers like my dear comrades on TRF!

good to know that I am not the only one. I used to have 2 watches that I've sold/traded to be one watch guy, thought that I wouldn't be looking for a new watch for a while... didn't repurchase, but two days later I was checking how to purchase a DJII.

My DJII isn't more than a month old...and i've already looked at another (and another). I'm stuck on a few options: My grail: Sub TT Serti slate dial, new Explorer 2 Polar, or Milgauss GV, OR the Sub Hulk... Man...its tough!

I definitely agree with the OP. Many of us are VERY fortunate to change watches depending on our situation and really... what we "feel" like wearing that particular part of the day. My record stands at changing five times in 24 hour period. Cheers!

This is a though one. As usual it is though to generalize but I have to admit that I am fascinated by people that can stick with the same watch, or style, for their entire life.

I remember at least a couple of persons in my circles who always wear their Sub, no matter what. OK, these are not WIS, but their "watch habit" gives a sense of stability and solidity.

Think about Giorgio Armani, he is a fashion designer but he always wears a black t shirt! Many others can be mentioned...

That's the problem with visiting this forum, Seth...it's tough to have just one watch!

At the end of the day, variety works for me too!
