AP ROC - Questions...

...I tried on a blue dial AP ROC this weekend and I have to say it wore alot bigger then the normal AP RO (that I think is too small) so the AP ROC could be an option for me, sporty yet elegant...

I also found a new model of dial (I think) and it is a masterpiece according to me...

So the questions:

1: I see variation of the size, some say 39mm and others say 40mm what is correct are there different sizes availible?

2: Have the AP ROC been updated recently?

3: Do you swim with your AP ROC (not scuba dive but normal swiming in pools and lakes etc...

4 Is the braclet bigger/thicker on the AP ROC the the AP RO

The Panda that I like seem to be of much higher pre-loved prices, is it only because the dial is new or any other reasons?

I will try to answer your questions-

1. The 26300 models are all 39mm in diameter, while the 26320 models are 41mm

2. Yes, they were updated earlier this year- but as far as I know, the only difference is the case size which grew from 39mm to 41mm.

3. I personally do not swim with my ROC (I have a Submariner for that job) but I have heard of people doing it.

4. I believe the bracelet is a little thicker than the 15202 models (at least the older versions- I've yet to see the new Jumbo in person) but the same thickness as a 15300 (correct me if I am wrong)

As for the preowned market- are you sure you are not comparing 26300 sales to 25860 sales? I've noticed that there is roughly a 3-4k price difference on the sales forum and that could be anything to do with the age and condition of the watch itself.

As a side note, I bought my ROC Panda about 4 months ago and I don't see myself ever leaving the "honeymoon" phase with it. It is just too perfect.

I really really wanted to get that watch...I had my heart really set out on it, but for some reason it didnt live up to my expectations. I couldn't justify no matter how much I wanted to spending the money for that watch in particular. Something was off about the finishing...and I found the indices/hour markers too narrow. However if it sings to you, you're a lucky guy....for me it's a bit of an unrequited love.

This watch, along with all the 26300s (as far as I know), has been discontinued. They are now only producing the larger 26320s. So it'll become harder to find this model and you might want to get aggressive about making a decision.

One note: I personally felt the ROC Panda wears a little smaller than most 39mm ROs/ROCs, because of the black outline around the outside of the dial. If you're appreciative of the size increase to 41mm, this may be a drawback for the Panda. You'll have to try it on. When confronted with all these ROC factors, I chose the 26320 in white.

I also love my panda ROC. I have tried on the 41mm 26320, and it seems to wear quite a bit bigger than the 39mm 26300. But 26320 does not have a panda version currently. Would recommend trying both on to see which size you like better, but for me it's the 26300.

If I recall correctly, there weren't any major updates done on the 26300. The case is slightly different, but movement/aesthetically wise they are the same, I believe.

1:39mm is correct for the 26300 while the 26320 is 41mm

2: Yes see the 26320

3: Yes

4: The thickness is the same as the 15300 but much thicker then the Jumbo

Panda dial is a newer dial but has been around a couple of years, Haven't really seen a price difference on them.

After looking a bit closer I feel that the Panda might have to move for a Blue or Black dial 25860, I love the pic of the Panda that I posted but looking at other pics I am not that sure anymore, it might be more classical to go with a blue, black or white 25860,

What is the service cost for one of these?

This one is the one I tried on last weekend on my wrist (Blue dial) that acctually got me thinking of getting one, I think it acctually wear a bit bigger then my SubC, what do you guys think? I need to let me SubC go for this one unfortunatly...



Love the blue dial but might go for a black anyway, please post pics of your 25860 to help me with my decision :-)

The REF I have seen is : 25860ST.OO.110ST.03, is this a ok deal? The dealer is in Stockholm so the deal could be done f2f...

Go with blue Martin, for me THE color for RO's, whatever the model

The 26300 also comes in all those classic colors.

You might want to calculate in a service for the one listed.

I've also questioned the difference between 25860 & 26300 here and on other forums. The answer I got so far is that the watch cases are constructed differently on the internal. There is no apparent difference externally between the two models.

For the dial, I think the classic ROC dial is more appealing than the 2-tone dial and has a more enduring look. All three colours are nice. I have the white dial, but also love the blue and black which look more sporty. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I'll be watching this with interest. I'm also eyeing a pre-owned 25860 at a local dealer but not so sure about a counter-offer to his asking price. I've also read that the 25860 and 26300 have different case construction but same look externally. I suppose a good diagram would explain better.

I've seen a panda ROC on sale but sadly, shipping is only inside the US.

great watch! have owned ROC, jumbo and QAP models and got the most joy from wearing the ROC. The size and weight for me are perfect. I'd go for the "pure" silver/white dial as there arent many alternatives out there. Sporty yet dressy with this dial IMO

and no problems swimming with it, although i have tried diving

Well ROO's are purely sport watches IMO, so would definitely not even consider them elegant or dressy, but that's fine, I only have sport or dressy sport watches like the Patek 5712-1A, or the Daytona 116515, while RO's and ROC's are dressy sport watches like Patek Nautilus and Aquanaut models, again that's just my opinion

1. the older models:
AP RO 15300 - 39mm
AP ROC 26300 - 39mm

the newer models:
AP RO 15400 - 41mm
AP RO Jumbo 15202 - 39mm
AP ROC 26320 - 41mm

2. yup as mentioned above, the newer models are the updated ones.

3. nope i dont swim with ROC because its a scratch magnet and i take really good care of it. its too precious for me to just swim with it.

4. nope the bracelet between the 15300, 26300 to the newer 15400 and 26320 is the same in thickness however the 15202 jumbo is extra thin.

5. the panda is indeed a beautiful piece and you can find it at a good deal in terms of price compared to the newer 26320 models which are higher.

i would suggest you to go to an AD / boutique and try on the newer models too to get a better feel and then decide which one you'd like to go for.
