iPhone Upgrade

My mobile phone company says I’m eligible for an update. I want to stay with an iPhone. I have the iPhone 4 now. Is there a huge advantage to upgrading to a 4S at $100 or an iPhone 5 at $200? Thanks.

Cheers,

David

get the 5, the speed and lightweight feel is worth it. Then you also get a larger retina display, you will regret it later if u pick up the 4s.

I upgraded from a 4s and I love my iphone 5. It also takes great pics of watches!

I'm in the same boat as well - I currently have the 4 but not sure if the 5 is worth it?

Go with the latest and the greatest.

It will be effectively obsolete in a few months anyway.

You might as well try to stay as close to the bleeding edge as possible.

I thought of upgrading mine too. I'm still using an iPhone 3G and my wife has a 4.

Personally, I don't think the the upgrades from 4 to 4s or 5 are "huge". The only benefits applicable to me are a slightly faster processor and a slightly better camera. I'm still sitting on the fence as both the mobile phones in our household still do what we need them to do just fine.

I should add that if I did upgrade, I would go for the 5.

As Grady said, go with the latest and greatest.

I have had the iphone 4, Samsung Galaxy SIII and now the iPhone 5..

The iPhone 5 is well worth the extra $100...(comparing the 4s to the 5)

From the weight, speed, screen, and the "lightning charger" they are all well worth the upgrade. Especially if you have LTE in your area..

GO FOR IT!!!!

Went from 4 (not s) to the 5 and could not be happier. I really like the size and weight. I have had an IPhone since the first gen and I am a huge fan.

No brainer...get the iphone 5. lighter, thinner, bigger screen, much faster, better camera, retina, better processor etc..

I guarantee you in a week you will think the 4 feels like an old brick!

Pretty much accurate. I went from the 4 to the 5 last weekend. It's a "leap" in technology but not an absolutely huge one. I really, really like the 4G speed.
I also like the new form factor.
The 4s would have been a disappointment coming from the 4. Just not enough difference to warrant that move, for me at least.

The iPhone 5 is a massive improvement for all the reasons others have mentioned.

I upgraded and between the 4S and 5, go 5. Having said that, I'm a little disappointed in certain aspects of the 5. There is a very distinct rattle that even the folks at the apple store said was normal. Never heard it on any other iPhone I've had. The LTE is very inconsistent. I'm not sure if this is an apple thing or a verizon problem. If I put it on airplane mode and switch back, LTE comes back. Plus there was a small scratch on the back when I first got it. I could have exchanged it but I would have had to wait, who knows how long, to get a new one.

There have been some reports of the 5S being released early next year. I'm tempted to believe these because the once a year release is putting apple way behind the curve with android putting out many phones every year.

Having said all that, go for it. The bigger screen is great, it is faster and if you have LTE, you will enjoy the hell out of it.

I would go with the iPhone 5. I was never a fan of the iPhone 4 design as it was heavy and I would drop it many a time.

The 5 is lighter, fits better in your hand, is faster, has a great screen and so far since launch I am loving it personally.

The IPhone 5 is neat. However there are some issues with the lightening connector. For example, on BMWs and MINIs the Connected App feature on the iPhone des not work. So the lightening connector MAY interfere with your car's control of the phone. As always, mileage may vary! If you do streaming Bluetooth to the the car, this is not an issue. I have a 4s and it will pair with two bluetooth connections simultaneously, allowing me to play music through and AUX port and use telephone services of the car at the same time.

The iPhone 5 will get better of courses, Apple was trying to get it out the door.

I have the iPhone 4 now and after considering all the other phones out there will def not be going with another iPhone. I'm considering the HTC One X+ or the Nokia 920 - just so much more advanced and customizable. Makes iOS look like a child's operating system. But if you're dead set on sticking with an iPhone, I'd def get the 5 over the 4s.

I currently have the Iphone 4 and am eligible for an upgrade on December 2nd. I have been debating if the Iphone 5 is worth it. I have heard rumors of an Iphone 5S coming in early 13'.
http://www.businessinsider.com/apple...one-5s-2012-11

Figuring that it may be worth it to wait until then as it is only a couple months away and my current phone is in great shape.

The only problem I see with that is that 2 days after the 5S comes out, you will hear about the iPhone 6. It's looking more like the latest apple products are only going to be the latest for less than a year. I don't think they would introduce anything before April that was iPhone related, but that's just my opinion. Good luck with your choice.

unless your phone is dying, or you have major complain on the performance, i would wait for 5s.

the upgrade are just not very significant
