The second one is more versatile, and I think is more interesting looking. The high polish YG parts of the bracelet will scratch easily though.

I have already the 16520 with brushed bracelet.
The thing is it doesn't look like a rolex...i have the feeling it looks like any chronograph watch...if you know what i mean.. Not to mention that tritium doesn't work anymore + the bracelet is different than new ones. in the end, only expert eyes can tell it's a rolex daytona vintage and be appreciated at its own value... 116523 looks more like a rolex daytona in a sens that the gold parts add more value to the watch. I'm not crazy about gold. I'd like to avoid the bling bling effect, but in this case it looks better i think but also might be too much gold...that's why i wanted some points of view. I might be wrong though... Thanks for sharing your comments! |

Thanks for pics.
All stainless gets my vote. I'm just not a big two-tone fan. I will say I have considered adding a two-tone Daytona just because the price was so good compared to stainless steel models, because I really like what's on the inside. |

Well SS is a Zenith, I would choose the Zenith over the in-house.

Can you guys mention what daytona u own? or is it maybe an opinion you have based on pictures only?
i wear my ss everyday. I'd like to know who owns a 2 tone 116523 (or both ss and 2 tone) and can give me a subjective opinion based on experience. Thanks for answering |

1. The 116523 is heavier. You may like the "solid" feel or hate the weight. 2. The new bracelet and clasp/easylink are really nice especially for a small wrist like mine as it's easier to get a good fit and center the clasp. There are more removable links on the new bracelet. 3. The lume on 16523 doesn't work anymore. 4. The chrono buttons "feel" better on the 116523 or maybe my 16523 needs a service. 5. Timekeeping is about the same although the 116523 has a longer power reserve (non-issue if you wear the watch everyday) I still love and have both but I find myself reaching for the 116523 more often. Yes, the gold parts of the bracelet and bezel edges pick up scratches and dings easily, for me at least. My logic is that for the price of a steel 16520 or 116520, I could get a 16523 or 116523 with essentially the same functions but with more dial options. The plain black/white for the steel models are too bland for me. I wouldn't mind owning one but not for the asking prices. |
