Rolex band lock
Greetings people! For my first post I was wondering if anybody has ever seen whether it be by rolex or a 3rd party a BAND LOCK, That physically locks the band in place to your wrist unable to remove without a key in a secure place at home. I am constantly worried of someone slipping off the clasp and watch off my wrist. I have a SS Submariner.

zanax...
It's a watch. I realize your concern, but if you can't FREELY enjoy it...why have it? |

Wouldn't your insurance cover theft. Or use duct tape. :)

This is what I do.
Just enjoy the watch. If you are going to be stressed all the time then maybe a expensive watch isn't the best thing for you to have. Btw, welcome to the forum.

Well I have a nice mix of answers, the helpful ones, a few obnoxious ones, a few humorous ones, just like any forum LOL.. I will check into the insurance aspect, can anybody name some companies that specialize in this kind of thing? I'm more worried about the slight of hand thief and not worried about some thug cutting off my hand. My Rolex has a lot of sentimental value to me so "maybe an expensive watch is not for me" says who? I don't think inquiring about added extra security is "paranoid" thanks to every answer, even the facetious ones! Hehe lol

Homeowners will cover it if you have an appraisal and itemize it.

Perhaps you can find an old Chastity Belt on eBay and modify it !
Seriously get the insurance and relax with the Rolex, it will not slip off. Enjoy your new watch - right now as the snow falls I wish I were in Miami ! |

Were you thinking of one of these? Perhaps your watchmaker could do a mod for you?

Find a local welder, I'm sure he could spot-weld your fliplock for a modest fee.

I'd be worried about losing my hand as well. Imagine if you were mugged at knife/gun point and you couldn't get if off your wrist!

Speaking of cutting the hand off to get your watch. My did in the past travalled all over with his trusted bright gold DD. He told me once in Mexico 20 years ago he went on bus tour and he had his arm with the watch hanging out the window of the bus. The tour guide went up to him and told him "senior if yo wish to keep your watch put your arm back into the bus ! Later the tour guide told my dad that when passing certain villages bandits have ran up to the slow moving buses and would hack with one swipe with a long knife they got the watch........and half your arm. True story. My dad kept his arm in no problem.

Call jewelry mutual it will cost about $100-$150 a year to insure depending where you live. A lock is not going to stop someone from stealing your watch if they want it and can cause more harm then good.. For example how about if someone sticks you up and pulls a gun on you telling you your watch or your life.. Are you going to say sorry I do not have the key to unlock it off my wrist? You will get shot and then your hand chopped off... Just insure it and do not sweat it. Your life is worth a lot more then your watch..
