New tattoo

Just back from Miami Ink where Chris Garver did this piece for me on my forearm. Hard to capture it because of the angle, but it's a Samurai kite.
So pleased...and he is really a master. Back in 3 weeks to continue the sleeve.....

Looks fantastic..... Out of interest, what's the timescale on the colours staying that vibrant?

Just that a friend had a pretty colourful tattoo done about 7 years ago and now needs/wants to have it "brightened" up again.....

They all fade - nothing much you can do. I have some ranging from 20 years to 1 day and you can tell which are the older ones. Generally make sure you apply sunblock when you're going outside to preserve best you can but it's gonna fade....rest assured.

Good advice about the sunblock. If they are done well they won't fade as much. I have a few 13 years old that haven't faded much at all. They will fade very quickly if put in too deep or shallow. Since Garver did it it should last a long time. I see a lot of people bargain shopping for tattoos and it always ends badly.

was about 3.5 hours from the time we sat down to finishing. Lots of chatting beforehand about the piece, placement etc. Since it's a Samurai kite, he is trying to do a "kite theme" on the rest of my sleeve so wanted it all proper...he's a bit of a perfectionist.

Shoulder to elbow has been has been done for a few years...been waiting for something to inspire me to finish it off to my wrist. Saw some work Chris did with kites and knew that's what I wanted. I go back in 2 weeks to continue the work with a dragonfly kite and some background work which should almost complete it.

Very nice ideas...I am not sleeved but could finish and fill in around the work already done on both arms. I hang out at a Tattoo shop and give them a hand talking to walk in customers and answer phones when they get busy. I am fortunate that both artists are fantastic and do great work and we have become really great friends. I've been thinking of doing each of my elbows...one with a Lotus Blossom and the other with a large Chrysanthemum blossom both in Black and Gray. Right now I have somewhere around 35 Tattoos with many of them being flowers and plants...as I am into Horticulture as a profession and is one of my main passions. But on my legs are all kinds and types with some being bicycle themed because I love to ride racing and mountain bikes!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Marathon 6 hour session on Wednesday. Have to admit that few things compare to the pain of having your elbow done with a tattoo.
Turtle and crane done with color as well as all the outline of flowers and waves. Could not be more pleased. Not done yet...but we're gettin' there!

Very nice. I have my eye on another squirrel but I'm not in any great hurry either. It will have to be funded out of my watch stash.
