5512 vs. 5513
Hypothetically speaking, say you only had space for one in your collection, what would you keep?
Unpolished 5513 with original factory finish or 5512 with a service dial but just as beautiful Just one of those 'what if' days I guess... |

5513 is my choice for its originality. However, whoever told you the 5513 is unpolished with with original finish is wrong.

Sorry buddy, it is unpolished. The pics don't do it justice, was taken with a phone camera there. If you will insist, then I have no choice but to applaud your jedi skills.

The top one, no question ('Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication'):
1- I love the patina on the top one 2- I am not a big fan of the 4 lines on the dial 3- Same water resistance and I do not think there is any additional accuracy with the COSC |

I need better detailed pictures, but the case of the 5512 looks to be sharper and less worn. It is tough for me to judge which one I would want without more pictures.
BTW, it is tough to say that the 5513 has the "original factory finish" based on the one picture because at least one of the lugs looks to have at least been polished even slightly.......even if it has been through just normal wearing of the watch.

no questions - 5512. With time, you'll find a correct dial, but 5512 is a lot rarer and a lot more desirable. As far as original finish, I do not believe any of that. After 35+ years there is no way you can prove that the watch was never polished.

I love the patina of the 5513 but if I could only have one it would have to be the 5512. As Vlad said, you can get a correct dial for it but until then, you still have a beautiful, collectible watch you can wear
