Royal Oak Bracelet Uncomfortable

Before I start, let me just say I have sensitive wrists. I had recently purchases a 15400 royal oak 41 mm on a steel bracelet. The watch was very well made and gorgeous, however the watch bracelet felt very uncomfortable. The links inside the bracelet were causing me discomfort. I wished AP would round the links on the inside of the bracelet to make the watch more comfortable.

I ended up trading it towards a patek nautilus 5711 and it is one of the most comfortable watches I now have.

A couple years ago I had a AP rose rubberclad and I ended up getting rid of it because the clasp was so uncomfortable. As much as I love the design of the royal oak I wish they would make them a bit more comfortable.

Well getting a 5711 isn't a bad ending. You're right, the Nautilus bracelet simply drapes over one's wrist.

Hmmm...I have to disagree with u. Sorry.

I have a very small wrist and the new bracelet for 15400 is the most comfortable AP that I ever have.

Great choice.

Have you tried the 5167 on a rubber strap?

You hardly even notice your wearing that one at all.

I agree that the clasp on the RG RC is not too comfy, but the 15400 is very comfortable (for me).
Still a great solution, ending up with a 5711, which like Mike said, is just silky smooth on the wrist.

Try adding a rubber strap on the watch or go for the diver.

For someone with a small wrist like 6" that's also sensitive, offshore SS diver even with XS rubber strap is not going to work. I could not stand wearing it for a full day, too heavy and very uncomfortable. CF version is good cause it's really light.
I would definitely not reco SS Diver. I never wore 41mm Oak but Nautilus is perfect.

Sorry the Ap bracelet didn't work for you but I find mine to be very comfortable.

Nice option for you in the meantime.

Hey, just wanted to let you know it deff is not you.. AP bracelets and clasps are not the most comfortable in the world. Rubber clad clasps are terrible, pretty to look at but don't wear well. The tip of the clasp is sharp and digs into the wrist. If you flip the clasp around that cures the problem on strap models.. The bracelets, not much you can do with those.

Looking to the future AP very well knows about these comfort issues which is why the new ROOs have Tang buckles instead of dep clasps. The new ROOs wear like butter on the wrist. Butter.

The 15300 I have is THE most comfortable watch I have and I am very precise about the fit. I don't like the watch to be too lose where it doesn't sit exactly on the middle of the wrist and too tight where it has no movement.

Initially when I got the 15300 I could not get that perfect fit, but after the 1.5 link, I was in heaven!

The 5711 is the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. Congrats on it!

Omg, I completely agree with you, I handled the 15400 a few days ago and I felt that discomfort you're talking about. I felt that the bracelet links were a bit sharp in my opinion. I was about to post a thread about it but i told to myself "pfff, Im crazy its and AP and is just probably my imagination" I even told a WIS friend of mine about this bracelet sharpness because I was afraid that I would get laughed at in TRF for asking such thing. Well my WIS friend told me that i was crazy and the RO bracelet was one of the finest out there and well, I kept it to myself. Now that I see your thread I might not be the only one!

I still think AP is in another league and the RO is one of the most beautiful and iconic watches ever.

Probably just depends on the wrist and length of the bracelet. I do agree that the deployment on the ROO isn’t very comfortable (I used to wear it one hole loose and it was comfortable that way). I did wear a 15300 for a day and it was so comfortable that it didn’t feel like I was wearing a watch.

The 44MM ROO on tang is very comfortable.

IMO the butterfly bracelets are very comfortable. It's the fold over deployants that give me grief.

I like my 15300 bracelet. You have me intrigued now by the Patek. Perhaps it is time to add one to the mix!

Glad it worked out. For me it was the opposite. The bracelet on the 5711 just did not feel right while the bracelet on the 15400 felt great. Guess which one I got

5711 over RO although I wouldn't say the RO's bracelet is bad

Oh the 5711 bracelet feels like silk while the 15300 feels like a comfortable sweater.

This is an old thread. But jus tht wanna bring it up again. I just got my 15450 for a few weeks now. The bracelet is really uncomfy. I like my watch snug with minimal movement. But with the ro bracelet, it constantly cuts into my wrist. As a result, i need to wear it loose such that it can move freely on my wrist. I even got the 1.5 link but not much use there.

Never had such issues with my rolex or other watch bracelets. Anyone else facing such issues?

Does anyone know if i can swap the bracelet for a strap on the 15450?

Trade it for a 5167a.

How did this thread get revived?

Okay you don't like the bracelet--I'm sorry.

For me the 15300/15400 bracelet is perfect.

That's the great thing with watches--everyone is different and that's okay.

Try some rubber strap AP's, but AP has some amazing bracelets IMHO.

The AP bracelet tends to trap the hair on the wrist and you can get a sensation of hair being pulled at times when it's in between the bracelet know what I mean ? While the 5711 patek is just smooth and wraps round the wrist like air.

The bracelet on 5711 Patek is the state of art. It has to be the best bracelet in the market. Period.

Speaking of AP RO's bracelets--can you adjust them on the fly just like you would do with an Easylink bracelet on a Rolex or do you have to remove or add links?

A few thoughts: I have the 15202 Jumbo and it is one of most comfortable bracelets I own and for me right up there with the 5711 Jumbo which I also own. Also an easy fix to the uncomfortable ROO RC straps...Flip the strap and it will be super comfy! The way it comes is awful and not sure why they don't just send it out flipped from factory as it completely changes the feel.

Which brands offer micro adjustment besides Rolex?
I must admit that was one of the most brilliant things I loved in a Rolex.
