Just about to purchase my first Rolex.

I became interested in purchasing my first Rolex when I turned 70 last year.
After reading and searching the web I decided on a GMT-2 stainless and gold that would be my everyday watch. I do have a 1969 Longines Flagship 18 kt with matching mesh bracelet. Great looking watch but not for everday usage.
Another reason for purchasing another expensive watch, is that I have two Grandsons who will inherit each watch once I pass. I will have them engraved now to each grandchild. So far I have been to two AD and one Bernie Robbins offered me the watch at 13K less 5% and the other, Govberg in Philly offered
me the same model at 13K less 15%, no tax. Since there are many experts on this site, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . I want to buy from a AD and Govberg seems to be the one so far. I have one or two more jewelers to visit before making my final decision. I wish everyone a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year. Thank you
.

How can an AD get around the tax if the buyer residence in the same State if I'm allowed to ask.

Wise decision to go shopping for the best deal.
Perhaps drive a little to DE - I heard no sales tax in that state.
Best of Luck

They can pick up that fee from their end
to the OP you might want to check the for sale section here as I am sure you should be able to do better on the price for the same watch

I live in Florida, but I have heard of Govberg. You can always check the For Sale section here. One of our Who's Who sellers may be able to get you exactly what you are lookng for at a better price. Either way, you are getting a great watch. Congrats.

If the ad ships to nj and there is no store in nj then you do not pay taxes.. I bought both my rolex in ny and had them shipped to nj to save taxes..

Good luck Rolex hunting, Foster.

Getting your first Rolex at an advanced age only makes the experience that much richer.

I know first hand.
