Chapter Ring Branding

After seeing the TT blue Sub with the CRB today, I had to ask: so what does everyone think of Chapter Ring Branding?

All three of my Rolex have the CRM so I would have to say yes.

I'm not sure I care one way or the other..

What it will do is help date a Rolex to this era if it has it.. it also makes checking the serial number less of a major pita..

Good points.

I like the subtlety. Certainly any Rolex aficionado will notice it, but I don't think that non-WISes will say "hey, that watch says ROLEXROLEXROLEX on that interior wall!"

Initially, I didn't care for it. Now I like it. It looked great on the TT blue Sub.

I think that it is hardly noticeable (unless you are looking for it) but it allows for checking s/n w/out removing bracelet.

I am indifferent to the CRB. I can barely see it in real life. I'm glad it is more understated in real lif than it is in pictures.

Some models have the serial number of the watch on the CRB.

I think it's the DD.....

Personally i detest it - i think it looks contrived and unnecessary. I prefer the minimalist look [less distracting script on the dial the better IMHO].

But thats the beauty of a friendly forum like this - all sorts of opinions are welcome

Regards

First I hated the CRB, but now I having nothing against it.

The CRB is actually quite subtle, so I don't mind it being on my watches.

What I like about the CRB is that you can easily check the serial number!

Sd Crb

Not sure if this has been covered previously, but has anyone seen a Sea Dweller with CRB?

Thanks,

Exactly right.

There was an ebay post a week or so ago where the seller had actually added the CRB graphically, photoshopping it in horrendously, and on what was, if I recall correctly, an A series Daytona!

I guess this new feature has relegated me to buying nothing but 'vintage' watches. I find this practice deplorable. We live in an oversaturated world where products compete for our attention and $$$ at ever increasing intensity. Instead of saying things more eloquently, we have been reduced to just saying things more loudly and repeatedly. There was absolutely no need to emblazen Rolex 10 more times on their watches, subtle or not. The only purpose it serves is to document Rolex's moral fall from subtle nuance to gauche billboard mentality. That being said, I think I'll be off to take my kitchen table and... Apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead...

Sorry for the rant... this one just got my motor running this morning.

I don't care one way or the other as long as it is not on my watch. Other than that, I feel about the same as I would wearing a jacket with the manufacturer's logo emblazoned all over it. An obvious and unnecessary branding.

Why is it that JJ's CRM (and holograms for that matter) always say 'LEXRO'?
