Impossible to answer.

The watches were never sold for the same prices over the same years so any percentage of value would be a guess at best.

Sub, in SS, is my guess.

Or the Daytona.

Wait! The Sea Dweller!

No, the GMT II.

Can YOU predict the future?!

Sorry for yanking your chain.

EDIT:

Which model will be best at retaining the highest percentage of its value...

THE ONE YOU WANT TO WEAR MOST OFTEN.

You are welcome :)

it is not easy is it?

The date sub & the GMT II are about the same price right now, but I sense the Sub will retain a slightly higher percentage of its value for new. Explorers are nice looking watches.but seem to be preferred less, for example.

Just buy the Rolex model you want Rolex is not all about £££££$$$$ its about owning and wearing one of the finest mechanical watches made today. Then after wearing and enjoying that watch for many many years. Then if you do have to sell it and get a good return on original price paid. Then just think of it as a bonus on owning wearing plus the pleasure that watch has given you over those years.

doesn't make a lot of difference, unless you go vintage, and then the very big money ones...

Who cares? You're either in this for the fun of it or you're not. Investing in watches is like investing in Nigerian email scams. Sure you'll have fun but you won't make any money.
