The Safari on rubber
Finally got my black band on the Safari. Really like it. Also a shot with a few of my sportier boys...

Nice collection (and car), but the Safari is best on it's original strap.

Deep Sea is a must have for any sports rolex collector
One of the best Rolex sports model in a long time for its technical feats:
1. Maxi Dial 2. Ceramic Bezel with 60 mins markers (usually only found on military dials) 3. Beautiful case. 4. Bracelet is amazing with the ratcheting clasp. Besides the fact that the watch can go down to the middle of earth. Definitely underappreciated. I hope Rolex discontinues this model and then I will sell mine 20 years from now for $100K USD. |

R8? nice...
There's a cowbell joke to be made here, just with rubber. imho, safari looks best on original strap, too. PAM and Hublot look perfect on rubber.

I think the Safari looks better on the brown hornback altho the DSSD would look good on black rubber.

Looks good! I too like the original Safari hornback, just trying to change things up. I am a big fan of the new ROO Ceramic Rubberclad. Been thinking about moving a couple pieces and checking one out.

Sure thing mate, I always think a change up is a great idea, had about fifteen straps for five watches at one point. I just think as the Safari is quite a classy and almost dressy ROO maybe a black hornback would be a good choice too, rubber is more sporty and for darker dials or divers for me as Colins DSSD shows.

AP Brown hornback is amazing
The AP Brown hornback strap is on of the best looking straps ever. I bought the Safari just so that I can wear the brown hornback (and that it looks best with the creamy white dial.)

I love my Safari on the black rubber strap. It completely changes the character of the watch. When I first put it on, my wife looked at me with a flash of shock and brief anger and exclaimed 'YOU BOUGHT ANOTHER WATCH???!!!' It was that different.
While I am sure I will go back to the hornback (which I agree, is a stunning strap too), I am enjoying the rubber strap for now. DrC
