FSOT: Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller 116660 DSSD
OK, time to do this. Again. Up for grabs is a watch from my private collection, my Rolex Deepsea, model number 116660. If you are looking at this post you probably already know everything there is to know about this watch - it is by far the most impressive Rolex I've ever owned or handled. There is a je-ne-sais-quoi feel and quality to the DSSD that most other Rolex models cannot replicate, but I have enough divers and sport watches so I want to go in another direction.
This watch is a G-serial (latest) dated March 2013 from US AD so almost the entire 2 years of Rolex warranty is left (this is something important to consider, the older M and early V serial from 2008/9 are coming up on regular service intervals, which is an added expense as the DSSD needs to go back to Rolex Service Centers as it requires special tools and pressure testing equipment). The condition is excellent, it would be mint if it wasn't for a little nick on the top left lug that I got on a trip to California the week before last. There is a minor swirl or two on the polished sides of the case, but you can certainly wipe that off with a Cape Cod, or the nick an easily be removed as well, I prefer selling my watches unpolished and "true". Finally, the bracelet is easily 96-97%, I wore it a lot on a Isofrane strap. Priced to sell at $8,775 including shipping/insurance CONUS via bankwire. I have plenty of references to provide, hopefully so do you. Thanks, Patrick Sorry for the iPhone quality photos for now, one of the kids unfortunately broke the macro. One the cover of the latest edition of National Geographic, Explorer/Director James Cameron wears the same watch Full package, from US Authorized Dealer (AD), 21 months warranty remaining Plastic still on the back, and on some places on the clasp. Works perfectly for us cold and wet soccer dads! :-) |
